STORRS, Conn. (AP) Graduate Assistants at UConn have overwhelmingly ratified their first labor contract.
The union representing nearly 2,200 assistants at six campuses across Connecticut announced Wednesday that 1,103 voted in favor of the three-year agreement, while 10 voted against it.
Under the deal, health benefits will track those of other state employees. Workers will receive annual pay raises totaling 9.3 percent over three years. Also, their annual university fees will be reduced by nearly $900 a year by the end of the contract.

interest in the living conditions of GA's or adjuncts or secretaries
or cafeteria workers or etc.
