Rosie O'Donnell Says Her 17-Year-Old Daughter, Chelsea, Is Missing
Source: NBC News
Rosie O'Donnell said Tuesday that her 17-year-old daughter is missing.
Chelsea O'Donnell was last seen a week ago, the TV personality said in a post to her website. She said the girl "stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention," and was last seen with her therapy dog.
Police were looking for Chelsea O'Donnell in the New York suburbs. Rosie O'Donnell has a home in Nyack, police there said.
"Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness," said Cindi Berger, a spokeswoman for Rosie O'Donnell. "It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe."

(44,576 posts)Chelsea, UNLIKE millions of people, has to live with her mother being publicly excoriated for being gay, liberal, and everything in between. Hope she wasn't upset about Trump said about her mother, and/or the resulting media attention. On the other hand, Rosie's getting divorced -- she could be upset about that, too.

(10,500 posts)her real mother. The adoption agency Rosie went through got her signature when she was under the influence of drugs. Rosie claims that they would never have done that. BULLSHIT. They do that to loving mothers all the time. They get them to sign when they are groggy and exhausted in the hospital, having just given birth.
After stealing this child from her mother, and changing her name, Rosie went on to enforce a closed adoption and deny Kayla (Chelsea) access to her REAL mother for 17 years.
I doubt that Kayla cares about her guardian Rosie's public excoriation, feud with Donald Trump or divorce. I think she is upset that Rosie de facto kidnapped her and after she learned the truth started attacking her mom and calling her a criminal.

(10,500 posts)It does no good to complain that they are gossip sources, unless you are arguing that Deanna (the b-mom) didn't really say these things.
Kayla's mother reported to the press that her daughter was effectively stolen and she explained how it happened. I believe her.
But whether the NY Times choses to cover the story or not has nothing to do with Deanna's veracity.

(10,500 posts)In other words, she never actually accused Rosie of stealing her daughter.
There are two problems with that point of view:
The first is that it is in multiple "tabloids." I showed you two of them. What are the odds the multiple tabloids would make up the same story?
The second is that Deanna, Kayla's real mom, has a FB page which is semi-open and where has referenced articles about Rosie stealing her baby.
Anyway, he is a link that might be more to your liking:

(113,329 posts)the tabloids. just because multiple outlets print the same stuff does not make it true (msm, anyone?)
I have no idea whether the woman's story is true or not. and, frankly, it is not on my list of priorities, one way or another.

(1,000 posts)Am I the only one who finds the title to this post odd.
She says her daughter is missing because she IS missing.
The way it is stated by nbcnews is just nearly questing Rosie O'donnell or at least implying Rosie is to be questioned.
Or is it just me ?

(30,813 posts)It looks like police are not concerned; they probably think she has run away. So the headline makes sense in that respect.

(2,256 posts)That could play a large role in how much danger she's in. It is my hope that this wasn't just a falling out between mom and daughter. Let's face it, at 17, kids don't like being told what to do and parents don't like being told they're about to lose the legal ability to tell their kids what to do. It just seems premature to publicly release the girls disability unless she's in danger because of it.
