MI6 recruited underpants bomber, US reports claim
Friday 11 May 2012.

British security services helped recruit the double agent who thwarted a plot to bomb a US-bound airliner, NBC News said in detailed reports that put MI5 and MI6 in an awkward position.

UK and Saudi agents were involved in penetrating a plot by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula to detonate a more sophisticated underwear bomb aboard an American jetliner, NBC said citing unnamed security sources. The alleged bomber has not been identified publicly.

Officials said the bomb - a refined version of an "underwear bomb" used in two previous failed plots - was driven from Yemen to Saudi Arabia and was being examined by US experts at FBI labs in Virginia.

British slack-jawed

British official were reported left "slack-jawed" by the leaks and detailed reported in the US media, The Times newspaper of London reported citing Whitehall officials.

Is this a fake would-be bomber with sense of humor to justify even more groping at the airports?

I think the 'recruitment' by the British is presumably in service of "penetrating" a plot by Islamists. But since the foreign policy apparatuses of both the British and American governments are demonstrably corrupted to their cores, and are well known for disseminating propaganda, who knows what to believe?

Sadly, it seems to have become a permanent part of our Potemkin democracy. I suppose they're opening up the Al Qaeda Media Production Studios again to produce this year's batch of videos.
