CONCORD -- A top pro-Republican super PAC says Hillary Clintons official endorsement by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, New Hampshires most well-known and most popular Democratic politician, is a sign of desperation.
.........
The long expected official backing by Shaheen, which will take place Saturday at a Women for Hillary event in Portsmouth, comes as Clintons poll numbers in New Hampshire, other early voting states, and nationally, have slipped, thanks in part to the controversy over her use of private email and a private server during her four years as secretary of state. Clinton, who was once the overwhelming front runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, slightly trails Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont in the most recent two public opinion surveys in New Hampshire.
In a one-on-one interview with NH1 News, Clinton campaign chair John Podesta said Wednesday that the timing of the endorsement was more about the calendar than about poll numbers.
I think were going into a different phase of the campaign, post Labor Day. People are going to pay more attention in the run up through the fall, Podesta said. So this was an important and appropriate time to have that endorsement and to energize supporters here who love Sen. Shaheen.

(14,255 posts)I could care less about the endorsement, but this seems like the best time to announce it.
Or - alternatively - well, duh!

(23,097 posts)Who cares when Shaheen endorses HRC, an endorsement is an endorsement, period. Besides, I've seen polls here showing Clinton improving, so the whole premise of this is off.
BTW - I will be voting for Bernie in the primary, just tired of this politically motivated snark.

(37,449 posts)Well when you dig deeper into some of the stuff that is posted here they are the source. Funny thing the only candidate they seem to be running against is Hillary. https://www.americarisingpac.org/
CNN reported that America Rising would be split into two entities: a super PAC that aimed to spread negative stories about congressional Democratic incumbents and candidates through digital channels and earned media.

How is Shaheen endorsing Clinton an "act of desperation"?
This article is written with an obnoxious negative slant against Clinton, just part of the continuing (now going on 30 years!) republican slur of her.
Bottom line, who gives a crap about what a pro-republican PAC thinks about ANY of the Democratic candidates?
(btw, not a slam at the OP, again glad it was posted to get this over and done with)

(60,536 posts)check what else they're reporting on. It's a news outlet, they reprinted a news release rather than write their own story.

(15,682 posts)What better time? It's like they think Hilary shouldn't be allowed to campaign on her own terms. All other candidates may do as they wish. But, there is just something so unsavory about it when HRC does it.
