Lawyer representing Kim Davis compares her to a Jew under the Nazis
Source: Raw Story
A lawyer representing Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis compared the fundamentalist, Constitution-defying public employee to Jews persecuted in Nazi Germany.
Davis was sent to jail on Thursday for continuing to disobey court orders to issue same-sex marriage licenses. She has maintained that complying with the Supreme Courts landmark decision legalizing same-sex marriage in all 50 states violates her religious beliefs, according to Right Wing Watch.
Appearing on Crosstalk on Wednesday, attorney Matt Staver of the Liberty Counsel compared Davis to Jews under the Nazis.
Does that mean that if youre Christian, dont apply here; if youre a Jew, you gotta get what happened in Nazi Germany, what happened there first, they removed the Jews from government public employment, then they stopped patronizing them in their private businesses, then they continued to stigmatize them, then they were the problems, then they killed them, Staver said. The fact of the matter is, she has a right to this employment and you dont lose your constitutional liberties just because you are employed by the government.

In 2014 Staver was suspected of lying when testifying before the United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice when questioned on his support of the anti-gay laws in Uganda and Russia.
Liberty Counsel is headed by attorney Mathew D. Staver, who founded the legal ministry with his wife, Anita, in 1989 and currently serves as its chairman. Anita L. Staver, his wife, serves as president of Liberty Counsel. A close partnership exists between Liberty University, which was founded by the Rev. Jerry Falwell, and Liberty Counsel; Staver serves as Liberty University's law school dean.[1] In 2004, Liberty Counsel became affiliated with Liberty University/Falwell Ministries and Liberty Counsel opened an office at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

If Miss Davis' sincerely held religious beliefs "prevented" her from issuing marriage licenses to interfaith couples, would her religious beliefs take precedence over the law?
And if Miss Davis refused to issue a marriage license to a couple because only one of them was Jewish, would punishing her for that refusal really be treating her the same as a Jew under the Nazis, or would she be the one acting like a Nazi to an actual Jew?

A Polish-born Jew accused of wartime atrocities surrendered his United States citizenship before a Federal judge in Brooklyn yesterday and admitted that he brutalized Jewish prisoners in a Nazi forced-labor camp and later entered this country illegally.
But under an agreement with the Justice Department, the 77-year-old Brooklyn resident, Jacob Tannenbaum, will not be deported - an action the Government had sought for a year - because doctors for both sides agreed that his age and failing health would make it life-threatening.
Mr. Tannenbaum, who apparently suffered a stroke last August while testifying in the case, acknowledged yesterday that he had beaten fellow prisoners, even out of the presence of Nazi guards, while serving as a kapo, or inmate overseer, at the Gorlitz concentration camp in what is now East Germany in 1944 and 1945.

(863 posts)How did the lawyer from the Liberty Counsel pass the bar exam? What an ass hat. Ever hear of the Hatch Act? Ever hear of the UCMJ? There are countless ways that being employees by the government restricts the rights that you enjoy as a non-governmental employee.
Just about everyone knows that what you do as an employee (of the government or as an employee for a corporation) is much different than what you do in your private life. Can an employee preach a sermon to his/her coworkers during working hours? No. Why? Because it is not part of your job responsibilities and it is disruptive to the workplace, etc, etc. Repeated violations would likely lead to job termination.

Nigeria has done by reaffirming marriage as between one man and one woman is what a number of countries are doing around the world. They're reaffirming marriage as one man and one woman. Russia is one of those countries recently that did that. Latin American countries have reaffirmed marriage as one man and one woman. Then other countries around the world are reaffirming marriage as one man and one woman and rejecting this radicalized homosexual agenda. - See more at: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/barber-staver-want-see-russian-anti-gay-laws-right-here-united-states#sthash.V405kZOr.dpuf
