(12,977 posts)The backers of the resolution against the deal need 60 votes for cloture. The opponents only need 41 votes to filibuster and prevent it from being voted upon.

(26,184 posts)as well as organizing calls to those Senators on the fence. Joe Lieberman, Even Bayh and Mary Landrieu have worked hard to kill the deal. Kudos to Senator Bennett for having the courage to support President Obama's Iran deal.

(22,911 posts)This is one of the biggest Senate votes of the decade, it literally means war or peace. That isn't enough to earn him support in a primary against a better candidate if you don't like him, but if he is the nominee against a Republican in a general election, ti's a good reason to vote for him then.
