Source: GlobalGrind

Carlos Anthony Hollins, 20, was arrested for sending out a tweet threatening to kill all of the White people in his town of La Plata, Maryland.
Hollins tweeted the message on Wednesday, followed with a Black Lives Matter hashtag.
Reports the New York Daily News:
“I’M NOT GONNA STAND FOR THIS NO. MORE, Hollins, who is black, allegedly tweeted. “TONIGHT WE PURGE! KILL ALL THE WHITE PPL IN THE TOWN OF LA PLATA.”
After he sent the tweet, police officers arrested Collins at his home in Waldorf, Md. He is being charged with threats of mass violence.

Don't give people to come down on the BLM movement because of anger and stupidity.

We have to be smart and carry ourselves in a dignified way.

Sometimes when people do stupid things like this I wonder if they're paid off by the other side.

So he might be convicted of a crime. If he had just wrote 'kill Whitey' that would not be a specific threat so that wouldn't be illegal. Any way a jury has to decide the issue unless he takes a plea deal.

have a chance.

The words alone he may but if he was actually preparing to act then they have him.

Back when my grandfather was a policeman being arrested would have just been seen as "time to cool off". And as angry as he was that does not seem like a bad idea. And I am thinking of this from his side. If he had actually gone ahead with the threat he would either be dead now or in prison for a very long time.

by government public servants hired to protect everyone.

Who hasn't noticed the pattern right in front of his/her face whenever racists rush to post/publish material designed to attempt to rally fear and hatred of the "other" in order to distract from something monstrous being committed in the present by racist Americans who put their hatred into action, and DO break the most important Commandment?

Oh, but someone tweeted his angry response to this practice of abusing to the point of death more minority people, to his friends, parents, siblings, neighbors, schoolmates who've been treated like trash extending all the way back to his earliest forced slavery ancestors. Oh, let's be sure to run to get our hoods, shall we?

Let's make a big deal of it. Let's post rumors and crap to stir the pot until we faint. Never let the hatred dry up. Let's keep it going. It's what the inbred sociopaths would want.

Yes, what he did was very concerning. But, he's not alone. Not by a country mile.

Anyone who thinks this guy is "bad" has never surfed the hate that has become sacrosanct and commonplace in many quarters of mainstream social media like Facebook and Twitter. I have personally reported several posts clearly as threatening as his to minority groups and public officials with only a blow-off reply at best or crickets at worst.

So to cover for this deep pit of hatred, occasionally they will find an exception and play it to the hilt... I guess it makes them feel justified in that cinder they call a soul. It disgusts me.

was known for several things when I lived in Prince George's County , Maryland during the late 60's thru 1980 - (1) Being the base of the most redneck area in the county and (2) having more Chevy El Camino's than anywhere else in America - a rather useless hybrid of a truck and a car.

If there is anger in that area from any minority, I can understand it. When I lived there the KKK still held their meeting in the fields down in that area and the entire county was basically divided up into a black-up county area of well to do blacks and the down county area of whites. The county police force, and county government at that time, was almost exclusively white and the racism was abhorrent.

The tea party types are home grown terrorists, they have already killed many.
A young black man lashing out his lifelong frustrations with a few words on a twitter account is protected by the first amendment.
We might not agree with what this young man says but consider his situation, his life is threatened every day by police and fascist tea baggers all of whom would be thrilled to see him dead in the middle of the street.
How much more do we expect these folks to take? No surprise they vent their frustration. Don't condemn this kid.

Most of the Tea Party super patriots who spout stuff like, "We oughta kill all the (black people)!" are just shooting off their mouths. They would not actually do it because they might get caught, they might get hurt, or they really don't want to kill anybody. Yes, there are a few of them who would do it, and they are subject to criminal charges if they arm themselves, work out plans to blow up churches, solicit others to participate, etc.

This young man is probably just venting. I doubt there is any evidence he intended to make good on his threat. We can't throw people in jail every time they say something like, "I'm gonna kill you!" We are a nation of frustrated citizens, and they go around saying all sorts of things. I can see why he tweeted what he did, whether or not he is personally threatened by white people or not. His speech is protected by the First Amendment as long as it is just rhetorical. He has the right to express his anger at attacks on black people, and he can say, "Let's kill white people." Unless he's actually making plans to kill white people, which is highly unlikely. I think they will have to release him and drop any charges within a few days.

http://somd.com/news/headlines/2006/5037.shtml

LA PLATA, Md. - According to local officials, "Charles County faces a defining moment." Expansive growth during the past decade has resulted in more homes, businesses, and schools, and a diverse population from various backgrounds, cultures, and religions.

However, the growth and the resulting changes in the community have fostered many new problems. "As we experience the positive aspects of this growth, we also struggle with the negative consequences of intolerance, bigotry, and racism," wrote the County Government in a statement released today.

Racial issues first came to light in Charles County in December 2004 when several local men set thirty-five unoccupied homes ablaze in the upscale Hunters Brooke development. The development was predominantly African-American. Five caucasian men were prosecuted in federal court where racist anger was demonstrated to be the primary motivation for the arson.

Since that time, the area has been plagued with ongoing acts of racial vandalism. Racial slurs and overtones, such as "KKK," have been spray painted on homes, churches, and other buildings. On November 6, 2006, a bomb threat was received at the predominantly African-American Zion Baptist Church in Welcome. While it is not known if the threat was racially motivated, the church was the victim of a hate crime in September. Few arrests have been made in any of the cases.

Conservative dad threatens ‘sh*tstorm’ if daughter’s world history class includes Islam

BayNet.com reported that La Plata High School in Charles County, Maryland has issued a No Trespass order after parent Kevin Wood — a former U.S. Marine — called the school and threatened to disrupt classes if his daughter’s world history class continued to study the religion and its impact on human history.

Wood reportedly telephoned Vice Principal Shannon Morris last Thursday enraged over a homework assignment which dealt with the formation of Middle Eastern empires centuries ago. History teacher Katie O’Malley Simpson said that the history curriculum has never been considered controversial in the past.

“The assignment has been given for years,” O’Malley-Simpson said.

La Plata High School Principal Evelyn Arnold issued a No Trespass order against Wood after hearing about the contentious call, in which Wood promised to come to the school and disrupt classes if Islam was mentioned any further.

Most of Maryland is very blue, though, as a state it ended up siding with the Union, there were slave plantations throughout the southern and eastern parts of the state. About 25,000 men from Maryland fought with the Confederacy, and 62,000 fought for the Union.
