Senate to hold new vote on Iran nuclear deal, Dems to block

WASHINGTON (AP) Senate Republicans on Tuesday pushed for a final say on the Iran nuclear deal before the congressional review period expires, but Democrats were poised to stop any attempt to undercut the international accord and President Barack Obama's win on a top foreign policy initiative.
The Senate was slated to vote for a second time in a week on moving ahead on a resolution rejecting the deal, and the outcome was expected to be the same, with Democrats mustering enough votes to block the measure.
As debate resumed on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., accused Democratic senators of refusing to let the Senate vote on the deal.
"A strong, bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives voted to reject the deal. A strong, bipartisan majority of the Senate would vote to reject the deal too." McConnell said. "If only Democrat senators would stop blocking the American people from even having a final vote on one of the most consequential foreign policy issues of our age."

(24,695 posts)why don't you condemn the actions of your caucus, lets remind all of readers of this crowd of your do nothing hypocrites who followed your lead for over 349 times and filibustered legislation against the will of the people when Democrats had the majority.
And now your whining--------here some tissue paper
Did you forget that you Mr. Turtle and 47 other senators committed treason when you and the other band of right wing hypocrites signed a letter to the Iranian government and now your whining.
I am thankful, that Reid showed the country on the floor of senate your actions along with the other 47 traitors.
You really do remind me of Goldwater, Nixon , Reagan , and the Bush's, wrapped up all in one package.
Better yet, you remind me of Prescott Bush ------here s a refresher if you read this thread:

(70,504 posts)R you fucking kidding me? How about the January 2009 meetings Mitch held in order
to lay out the ground work to block everything Presdient Obama would try to do in order
to hurt the American people so they would make him a one term President? How
about blocking Vivek Murthy as Surgeon General? How about after Sandy Hook blocking
any gun reform actions? How about cutting funding that President Obama asked for to fight
Ebola in the late spring of 2014?
BTW it is a good deal too.
