(NM Gov.) Susana Martinez, rumored VP possibility, criticizes Romney’s immigration strategy

New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez, discussed as a potential Republican vice presidential pick, chided presumptive nominee Mitt Romney when she knocked his immigration strategy in an interview published Monday.

“‘Self-deport?’ What the heck does that mean?” Martinez said in an interview with The Daily Beast. “I have no doubt Hispanics have been alienated during this campaign.”

Martinez referred to a plan Romney outlined during a January debate in Tampa, where the Republican National Convention will be held in August.

“The answer is self-deportation, which is people decide they can do better by going home because they can’t find work here because they don’t have legal documentation to allow them to work here,” Romney said. “We’re not going to round them up.”

Besides, Mittens would never pick a woman or an ethnic, he needs someone blander than he is, and you have to go to "old white guy" to get that.

The Republicans need someone to court the Hispanic vote & I think she still stands a good chance. I hope not; as a former District Attorney, she continues with that 'punish, incarcerate 'em' attitude...and the Republicans love that un-compassionate shit.

He seems to be running away from "Mitt the potential Repuke nominee" as fast as he can, in a desperate bid for the middle. Reich wingers could gripe their asses off over picking her as a VP candidate, but they really have no other place to go.

I 'm not a scientist, and I don't pretend to understand much of it, but is such a thing as that possible?

Romney is changing his position to hers, by picking her for VP? Didn't she back Rubio's plan? It's not any good either. It just sends these kids to Mexico after they graduate from college, even though they've been here since birth or very young age. No citizenship.
