Hillary willing to do more debates
By Ben Kamisar
Hillary Clinton is open to having more presidential debates amid protests from her Democratic rivals that the number has been capped to tilt the race in her favor.
"I look forward to the debate next month, now just a month away. I will certainly show up anywhere the Democratic National Committee (DNC) tells us to show up," Clinton said Thursday afternoon on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."
"I want us to have a good exchange of ideas and to make sure that Democratic voters, first, and then general voters to follow see exactly what we stand for."...............
It was Clinton's first live television interview since starting her campaign......................

It is also a youtube video.
Wolf went through a lot of comments made by Republicans last night at the GOP debate:
She talks about PP and Carly's vile comment at the 2nd GOP debate also --in much detail --and also discusses what the Republican congress wants to do. They want to defund PP but no tax money goes to fund actual abortions.
Wolf also brings up Chris Christie's vile comments about her email server.
Also talks of the upcoming primaries.
She again was asked about Biden entering.

(70,214 posts)Wolf asked the question again and the powers that be made it a headline. But she did give a good interview in case you are interested.

(2,807 posts)Do you also think Christians are being discriminated against? And white people? What about the moon landing? Or Kennedy's assassination?
Is this whole "too few debates" conspiracy rank up there with all those?

(16,974 posts)she says it but does not act to call or talk to DWS. Just like she does not attack Bernie but has directed her surrogates and the super pac she coordinates with to do the dirty work. I can not vote for her as she is very dishonest in my opinion.

(73 posts)So if Sec. Clinton is in agreement with Sen. Sanders and Gov. Malley on this, then I think it can be a good thing. Apparently,23 million people watched the CNN debate, and a similar amount did for the fox debate(comparatively speaking IIRC the NFL season open did 27 million)
Even if many of them are watching for the clownshow, that amounts to tons of people watching repuke talking points and without rebuttal from our own candidates having been given a similar platform to do so soon afterwards. And I don't trust the media to do much of that fact-checking them selves.
The key ,of course, is to have well moderated debates that has fair/non-leading questions, but the message from all of our candidates need to get out there more and I think more regular debates could facilitate that. It also gives that much more practice before the general election debate (even if their is some variation on the strategy for a one on one debate)

(5,761 posts)and it's stupid bullshit. Over 22 million watched the CNN debates. 22 frickin' million people! Think about that for a second. What and who are the American people seeing and hearing? Republicans! What are they hearing from Democrats? *crickets* Absolute silence. Nothing. Millions upon millions are watching the GOP contenders while Dems haven't even had a single debate yet. It's completely disgusting and absolute crap. Now that HRC is behind the idea of having more debates, that's every single candidate. It's time for all teh candidates to make a stand and tell the DNC to screw themselves, it's time for them to make a stand and contact major outlets and have a debate without DNC support. I'm sure Al-Jazera America would love to have them on their network.

(5,761 posts)Let's be honest, no average American is going to websites to hear a candidate speak which aren't debates to begin with. Dem candidates need to be on the center stage in front of the American audience, exchanging ideas and explaining to American's why their best.

(12,882 posts)"I will certainly show up anywhere the Democratic National Committee (DNC) tells us to show up," LOL! How confidently she can so state when she KNOWS that DWS ain't gonna change a THING! So much for the "Leader" mojo when she can't even beg a bit more exposure! I wish I knew how to post images to DU. I'd find a nice pic of a queen having her tiara put in place.

(8,775 posts)Not having more Democratic POTUS debates helps HRC and harms the Democratic Party.
At least the Democratic Party does not have a lineup of certified clowns.

(12,655 posts)she should join the others in calling for lifting the draconian, undemocratic exclusivity clause and demand that other groups be able to hold debates as they see fit and that she will show up "anywhere" the candidates can gather and debate the issues.
then i will believe she really wants to debate.
