Boy, 11, delivers brother when mom goes into labor at home

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) An 11-year-old Georgia boy delivered his baby brother with help from a 911 dispatcher.
According to WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/1NTKChO) Kenyarda Dukes, of Marietta, says she and her son James were at home Tuesday when she knew it was time.
Dukes recalled, "I was screaming and my son ran in the room. 'Mom, are you OK?' I'm like, 'Nooo!' "
Her baby was coming.

(5,902 posts)The kind of wholesome news that should grace right-wing news outlets as well - but probably won't, for the reason we can all guess.
On a personal note - and at the risk of digressing too much - I remember delivering our cat's litter when I was the same age, 11. Yes, those were cats; but you never forget it.

Having helped deliver a few - mom does most of the work, y'all - that's a pretty good job on his part.
Did they cut the cord and everything before anyone got there?

That's what happened to my wife. She was fine. My daughter was fine.
The boy called 911 and wrapped the baby in towels? oh boy... hah.
But it makes such a great human interest story???
