Joe Biden a better bet than Hillary Clinton to beat Republicans, poll finds

Source: Guardian UK

Joe Biden would be a better general election candidate for the Democratic Party than Hillary Clinton according to a new poll released by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal.

In the poll, Biden did significantly better than Clinton in general election matchups against all four Republican candidates measured: Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and Donald Trump. The current vice-president won handily in all four head-to-head matchups, with his closest competition being Fiorina. Biden led the former Hewlett Packard chief executive by a margin of 47-41.

In contrast, Clinton was in dead heats against three of the four candidates. She trailed Carson and Fiorina by one point and had a narrow, one-point lead over Bush. The only Republican whom Clinton led by a significant margin was businessman Donald Trump. The poll also measured how Bernie Sanders would fare against Trump in a general election. He would lead the real-estate mogul by 16%, more than Clinton who had only a 10% lead but less than Biden’s lead of 20%.

is on the issues. Maybe they should poll an unarmed candidate against the republicans and see what the results are. Both results are essentially worthless

It is the media's attempt to hurt Hillary and ignore Bernie. In 98% of the stories regarding Biden, Only Hillary is mentioned. Bernie and the other candidates are ignored, and Bernie with double digit polling numbers being completely ignored in this context tells you what is really going on

He would keep all of the same people in place.

THE Beltway likes continuity.

Plus, he would obviously select liberal Supreme Court judges.

Biden is a nice guy that's more Liberal than Obama.

But I do believe there will be attacks on Roe, attempts to shovel more money to the banks, and SCOTUS appointments.

Biden's done poorly on all three of those. So I'm less concerned about the terrible judgement on the AUMF than the terrible judgement on those issues.

Hasn't presented his platform, so what does it mean, nothing, except a Concerted effort by the MSM to hurt Hillary, and ignore Bernie, by hoping to prod Biden to enter the race

Biden's record has not even been discussed in this context. From his opposition to the bin Laden raid because we didn't go through the Pakistan government, to how he treated Anita Hill during the Thomas confirmation hearings, he has some major judgement failings.

It is so obvious what the MSM is trying to do. When you have CNN going out of their way to say Biden will be able to be in the first debate if he announces, Wouldn't that be obvious without that announcement?

Even this "should I or shouldn't I run", game that Biden has been playing, does not reflect positively on his decision making capabilities. He should know if he wants to run or not by now, and that his spokes people said a couple weeks ago that he may not decide until November to make a decision really reflects poorly on him.

It's why the plutocracy-owned mass media coronated her several months ago.

Although much fault not her own, H. Clinton is a polarizing figure.

Much of his popularity comes from the fact that the attack machine hasn't been ramped up yet.

which is to say, he's not officially in the race yet so how he's polling right now is meaningless. and i say this as someone leaning towards sanders.

i have to say, biden needs to either get in or officially rule himself out. enough with the "maybe I am but maybe not" routine while he's visiting important primary states.
