Saw this on the NY Times site this a.m. and there was a post in GD. She also headed up HHS back in the 1990s.
Hope she recovers quickly!

(2,975 posts)I doubt any of us will say that, if they do I'll alert on them myself.
Now. Positive thoughts for her, no campaign crap when we're trying to be supportive.

(32,106 posts)it was so different when I was growing up there. We still had the manufacturing sector w/strong unions and family farms. The manufacturing jobs were shipped overseas, the farms were put out of business by big Ag. It has not been the same since and is a microcosm of what will happen over the entire country if we let it (and pretty much already has).

(30,769 posts)and keep fighting. I know the people of Wisconsin can do that. It is in your blood.
My daughter lived there for quite a few years. She is hoping a job opportunity will bring her back soon.
At first, she said she would never return to the state Walker was destroying. Now she is eager to go back and help.
We have our own troubles here in Illinois, with a Walker-like governor. Our work is cut out for us. But I wish you the best in getting back on course up there.

(32,106 posts)after college. I see the issues with family/friends still living back there. It is getting to be a very "two Americas" type situation. My family members who went to college are ok, even if they are paying off debt etc. The high school graduates are working big box stores, restaurants, nursing homes for very low hourly wages. Walker's downfall was pushing the university. They reacted very quickly and let folks know that they would start closing small campuses first (those colleges employ many people). Walker is on the way down now.

(30,769 posts)I almost never do that. I don't want that to prejudice my outlook.
I am tired of seeing the divisions here when there is so much we should be agreeing about.

(32,106 posts)I kind of wish I had never seen that Hillary supporters website. People are just blowing off steam but I know ultimately we will all work together to keep incompetent buffoons like Bush out of the White House.

I limit my Internet time. Part of the reason I do that is that I have an injury to my right hand due to rheumatoid arthritis.

(17,663 posts)if treated early, she may have a good chance of a good recovery, depending on her health in general and the location of the stroke.
Best of luck to her, rooting for her!!
