Florida man running for Senate sacrificed goat and drank its blood
Source: NY Daily News
A Florida man running for U.S. Senate is supported by neo-Nazis and acknowledged he once sacrificed a goat and drank its blood.
Augustus Sol Invictus is the Florida Libertarian Party's candidate and has faced other accusations ranging from his support of eugenics, prophesizing a "great war" within America's borders and drawing support of neo-Nazis.
Invictus, who declines to reveal his given name, is the only Libertarian candidate looking to fill the vacant seat left by presidential hopeful Marco Rubio. His position as the only representative of the party led now-former party chairman Adrian Wyllie to resign in protest.
Wyllie lobbed these claims publicly in a Facebook post on Thursday that included the accusation of Invictus sacrificing a goat, which Invictus denied to Politico.

(254 posts)I sure do miss the good old days, when all the "nut bar" stories came out of California. Our motto now should be
"Florida - it's the new California!"

(25 posts)Seriously, if one has read the Old Testament of the Bible one cannot be surprised by anything a "God" requires of its adherants. Animal sacrifice is part of many religions. Including the Christian one.
If you have not actually read the Old Testament let me catch you up. The God in that tome requires his people to mass slaughter other peoples. To kill every single living thing including the women, children and animals of their enemies. Yes, even the cats and dogs. Not just once, but often.
The God of the Old Testament also has some fetish concerning burning flesh. Seems to think it is great that his followers sacrifice animals, including goats, to him and burn them on an alter.
And, should you be of the people who say the Old Testament is superceded by the New Testament you need to know you are wrong there. Jesus in the New Testament clearly said he did not come to change the law (that being the law of the Old Testament.) Read Matthew 5:17 if you doubt what I say here.
So I don't see why this person who sacrificed a goat is really an issue.

Those of us who know Augustus are taking this very seriously. Having spent three tension-filled years with him in law school, I can say this is not a joke. He's written long articles advocating for eugenics, he essentially denied the holocaust during a 1L class discussion, his self-published book on Amazon is alarming, he once operated a blog where he called for all churches to be burned the ground and argued that people who censor speech ought to be "shot dead ina dark alley with no dignity."
This is serious, and I'm happy to know several police departments are investigating the matter.
It's so funny, I live here in FL and never heard of him til the other day

(12,151 posts)Check out the "fireside chats," complete with ... interesting? accent. Sort of George Wallace meets that French actor from the first Highlander Movie. I think one of the blogs says he speaks with no accent when not giving a speech.
His comments on the misunderstandings regarding his former thoughts on eugenics and the questionable value of giving "women and minorities" the vote are also quite ... uh, striking.
