Gunman Sought After Shooting at Durham, North Carolina, College

The campus of North Carolina Central University was briefly on lockdown late Sunday as police sought an "active shooter," the college said.

The college issued an emergency alert saying there had been "active gunfire" about 11:15 p.m. ET. The lockdown was lifted about 11:50 p.m.

Durham police told NBC station WNCN of Raleigh that one person sustained a non-life-threatening injury in a shooting on campus at 10:53 p.m. ET. The shooter hadn't been apprehended, police said.
