Nissan expands fuel leak recall to 59,000 sedans

Source: AP

DETROIT (AP) — A Nissan recall for possible fuel leaks in crashes has been expanded to include nearly 59,000 Altima and Maxima sedans worldwide.

The recall now covers certain 2013 to 2016 Altima midsize cars and some 2016 Maxima large cars. Also included are some 2014 to 2016 Teana sedans made in Russia. All have V6 engines.

Nissan says in documents posted by U.S. safety regulators that in a crash, fuel could leak from a seal between the gas tank and the fuel sending unit. That could cause a fire.

The company says the problem was discovered in crash tests, and it has no reports of fires, injuries or fuel leaks.

I got a recall notice for defective airbags.

6 months after my car was totalled, and the air bags deployed.

Good news!! My airbag was not defective.

I own a vehicle covered by the recall ... and have yet to receive the recall notice.

I guess Caleb, my salesman that is sooo helpful and caring, just isn't that into me.

ETA: I guess I should have read the linked article. The recall of my vehicle should begin in the next two months.

What do you bet Caleb uses the recall servicing as an opportunity to get me to buy another vehicle?

We had some problems on our Chase (won't ever use them again) new car loan. Had to get the dealer involved after a two week run around. That cleared it right up.

How is your daughter doing? Did she ever forgive you for the phone call in the early hours?

I guess I'm not the salesman type; because, I could bring myself to:

"Good Morning Mr. 1SBM. While I have you here because our product is defective ... Let me try and sell you another of our products!"

How is your daughter doing? Did she ever forgive you for the phone call in the early hours?

Thank you for asking ... My daughter is fine and all was forgiven ... when we transferred the next, "Can I borrow ..."
