Facebook Accused Of Secretly Lobbying For CISA

Source: Techdirt

"This bill is toxic. The public hates it and tons of tech companies are against it, but Congress keeps trying to ram it through. Now that we know that Facebook lobbyists are working behind the scenes to get it passed, it makes more sense why Congress keeps coming back to it."

CISA is a bill which would let tech companies give your personal info to the government.

The bill's name stands for "Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act."

should know full well that there is ZERO privacy in ANY e-discussion you have or any communications you have with friends or family. It is ALL given to some government surveillance entity. That is part of why they all got super-rich so fast.

So this story doesn't suppress any yawns with me.

I worked for a cell phone provider back in the 90's. They was an unlabeled door - no employee name, not even "closet". In curiosity, I asked my boss about it, because it was next door to his office. He said it was for the feds.

...the idea of this bill is that even if we find out the details of how they violated our privacy, we still can't sue.

They point to CISA and say, "We are on your side, but we have no choice!" And they can continue harvesting fat government contracts.
