Secret military operations to divert LAX planes for a week

Source: KABC TV

Mysterious maneuvers over the Pacific are forcing a change in Los Angeles International Airport landings late at night, meaning noise for thousands of people in the flight path.

Instead of landing from the east over Inglewood, planes begin flying from the west and over the ocean to keep noise levels down, but due to secret military operations, the airspace over the Pacific is closed to incoming flights for the next week.

"We clearly understand that neighbors and communities east of the airport will experience noise and we apologize for that," said Nancy Castles, LAX public relations director.

The military is not saying what exactly is causing the change, and LAX claims it's also in the dark. Castles said all they know is planes can't be flying at low altitudes to our west

Or maybe the Fukushima Filter.

Whatever, I sure hope they aren't gonna kill off any more marine life to save the wealthy.

Lots of data to gather 'bout lots of things...

Why is it that people who are the most neurotic and paranoid get to be so vocal? And abc7 allows them to spill out one absurd statement after another.

It is hard to deal with the cognitive dissonance of believing that the government is completely incompetent while it is also secretly out to get them.

For those that don't know LAX...it's a mess...worse than it's ever been with heavy traffic, both air and car!

And later at night arrivals being rerouted...what the hell is that costing and how will that affect flight times. And they are doing stuff out in the Pacific? There are arrivals coming in AND going out to Hawaii and various countries to the West of the U.S....how's that working?

And for a week?

I'll be in and out of LAX THREE times this week...can hardly wait for more delays.

Sounds like LAX is a mess. Why has it gotten that bad? More flights? More passengers?

I haven't flown through LAX in many many years. When we come back to the states we usually fly into SFO or SEATAC and then to PDX.

Last week word went out that the next generation bomber contract was awarded.
The way skunk works operates, they are going to start flight testing, and don't want any eyes in the area.
