Police: Suspect In Officer's Shooting Claims Allegiance To ISIS

(CNN)A 30-year-old man who allegedly ambushed and shot a Philadelphia police officer sitting in his patrol car confessed he did it in the name of the Islamic State, presumably referring to the terrorist group ISIS, officials said Friday.

The alleged assailant was armed with a 9mm Glock 17 that was reported stolen from the home of a police officer in 2013.

"It is one of the things that you regret the most, when an officer's gun is stolen that it is used against one of your own," Ross said

James Clarke, a police homicide captain, told CNN the suspect said to investigators: "I follow Allah. I pledge my allegiance to the Islamic State and that's why I did what I did."

Many of these "ISIS wannabes" are those with criminal records, petty theft, selling dope, and so on.

ISIS promises them lots of rewards, especially money.

The toilets don't work. Blame it on the POTUS and Hillary. This deranged, angry, sick bastard tried to kill a cop and pledge his ignorant allegiance to the hate-filled club of thugs and murderers. Blame it on... It's snowing in the mountains. Blame it on...... The deranged group of disgruntled, paranoid ammo-freaks want to take over a tourist shop in the loneliest part of the frozen ground in Oregon to make up for their lack of courage to actually do something constructive for the country, such as serving in the military, public service, etc. Blame it on ......

My first act as POTUS would be to shut down fox-propaganda network and arrest and put on trial the whole filthy nest of seditious traitors that gleefully misinform the nation 24/7 and pump their fear and hatred into the weak minded buffoons that gobble up their garbage before climbing under the bed at night. And next would be to clean the airwaves of reich wing talk radio and do the same with them.

Be thankful I'm not sleeping in the White House. You would see "the Constitution" being twisted and abused like never before.

Per the linked story, the gun was stolen from the home of a completely different officer in 2013.

In any event, I'm very impressed by that cop. He's shot multiple times, yet still manages to give chase and shoot the terrorist in the ass. Well done!

I wish Officer Hartnett a quick and complete recovery from his injuries.

It's also interesting that Officer Hartnett was on the Lansdowne police force for two years before become Phila police. Lansdowne is right next to Yeadon, where Archer is from. They're both close-in Philadelphia suburban towns. I wonder if the two had previous contact…maybe Archer's ambush wasn't entirely random?

which I personally doubt, the shooter is still an admitted terrorist and the officer acted in a brave and commendable fashion.

Moreover, if the gun used to shoot Officer Hartnett was stolen from him, that would be a VERY pertinent piece of information that could not be hidden.

...but anyone who's enough of a badass to get shot; get out of the car; give chase; and shoot the assailant doesn't need my help. Still, I wish him a speedy recovery, and I'm thankful it did not turn out far worse.

can claim to be ISIS-inspired and send the fearful into an anti-Muslim frenzy. Great. He could have been a Donald Trump plant. (I kid, I kid.).
