Oregon standoff spokesman Robert 'LaVoy' Finicum killed, Bundys in custody after gunfight near Burns

Source: Oregon Live

BURNS – Oregon standoff spokesman Robert LaVoy Finicium, 55, of Cane Beds, Arizona, was killed and other top leaders of the wildlife refuge occupation were arrested Tuesday after law enforcement officials stopped vehicles about 15 miles north of Burns.

Authorities did not release the name of the person killed at the highway stop, but two sources told The Oregonian/Oregonlive that it was Finicum, one of the cowboy-hat wearing faces of the takeover.

Ryan Bundy, 43, of Bunkerville, Nev., suffered a minor gunshot wound in the confrontation and was arrested.

Well, he did say he'd rather be killed than jailed. I wonder if he forced this.

19. Ammon Bundy, 5 Others, Arrested After Shootout In Oregon, 1 Dead
Tue Jan 26, 2016, 11:36 PM
Jan 2016

Late Tuesday evening, bird sanctuary occupier and would-be land thief Ammon Bundy found himself detained after a police shootout, leaving one dead and two injured. The shootout appears to have occurred while Bundy and company were en route to John Day, a town approximately 70 miles from the occupied wildlife refuge.

The men were stopped by local police, supported by FBI. The stop turned violent, resulting in the two people being injured during the altercation. It is not clear at this time who shot first. Those injured were apparently rushed to Harney District Hospital in Burns, Oregon.

Ammon Bundy rose to national infamy for his illegal occupation of a closed wildlife refuge. His gang of would be land snatchers were in the process of attempting to steal public land as part of a private enrichment scheme, pledging to free up exploitation to private interests which would despoil the land placed into the public trust.

The Burns police department appears to have then issued warning to the remaining occupiers to vacate the sanctuary or else they would be put under imminent arrest. We do not know at this time how many of the Bundy gang have fled the scene.

We will be giving updates as this story unfolds.

I'd love to know their source of "inspiration" in all of this. It certainly has to be something more than the federal government giving grazing fees at less-than-market price. It has to be more than the Hammonds.

I can hypothesize it's "right wing media" and maybe that is part of it, but I don't think it's just that.

Wed Jan 27, 2016, 06:22 AM
Jan 2016
“They were ripped from my wife,” Finicum said. “We are very successful (foster parents). Our track records are good, it’s been a good relationship. (Federal authorities) must have gotten to the governor, who told the state to get them out of there.”

Finicum said he is licensed and has a care contract with Catholic Charities Community Services in Arizona. While his license has not been revoked, Finicum said he would no longer receive referrals to care for foster children.

That represents an enormous loss of income for the Finicums. According to a 2010 tax filing, Catholic Charities paid the family $115,343 to foster children in 2009. That year, foster parents were compensated between $22.31 and $37.49 per child, per day, meaning if the Finicums were paid at the maximum rate, they cared for, on average, eight children per day in 2009.

“That was my main source of income,” Finicum said. “My ranch, well, the cows just cover the costs of the ranch. If this means rice and beans for the next few years, so be it. We’re going to stay the course.”

If you do any research, some of the terrorist trained in Arizona. Under the watchful eye of the Conservatives Republicans. It is a state that imports radical people and puts them up for election also. Being moved to AZ hides the background of those relocated to AZ. Arizona even have had doctors being licensed in AZ, when they were charged and convicted with crimes and lost their licenses n other states. This gives you an indication the kind of state it is.

Now there is a huge campaign to get rid of Senator John McCain by the Conservatives. Sen McCain has saved several times Air Force bases in Arizona, in fact, having one air base updated, to keep it open. He always has saved a few air force planes that were going to be decommissioned.
