Pelosi Praises Bernie Sanders for Energizing Young Voters

Source: ABC News

Top House Democrat Nancy Pelosi is praising Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders for getting more young people "interested in the political process" as he mounts a surprisingly strong race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The California congresswoman says that "history will record that Bernie Sanders' candidacy has had a very wholesome effect."

Pelosi spoke as House Democrats are closing out a team-building conference aimed at building unity and sharpening the party's message heading into the November elections.

She was responding to a question about whether Sanders' candidacy will hurt Democrats' chances this election.

We in California need some fresh thinking, in our leadership in D.C. (Pelosi and War Hawk DiFi).

She's only excited because she thinks these young voters are going to bring their excitement and enthusiasm over to Hillary should she get the nomination.

I hope that's not what she's thinking because if she is then she's not paying attention.

I'll bet at a deeper level they feel conflicted between their ideals that motivated them to get involved in politics and the sad state of the compromises they've been forced into and now they're stuck as part of the system.

Disappointing yesterday to see that 3/4 of congress is anti-Bernie even though he's one of the most popular members. They can't let go of the $-teat that they've grown dependent on.

Could it be the Clinton e-mail investigation by the FBI might be getting close to indictments? I heard this a.m. that a lot of those rumors have been circulating around the Hill. Could it be where there is smoke - there is fire?

Even Obama in 2008, for all of the fuss about younger voters, the turnout in this age category was still the lowest of all the age bracketts.

Notably, the 18-24 age range is both the smallest age range being measured, covering only 6 years versus the 9 year range of all other sets, and is the only category that is growing in voter turnout.

I've heard from her in a long time. Ms. "impeachment is off the table" became irrelevant a LONG time ago. It was under HER watch that the Democrats lost the House. Apparently, the voters prefer Republican to Republican-lite.
