Police consider charging Trump with inciting a riot over violence at North Carolina rally

Source: Raw Story, Fayetteville Observer, NBC

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s office is considering filing charges of inciting a riot against GOP frontrunner Donald Trump for the Fayetteville, North Carolina rally according to an NBC reporter and local media sources. The rally was the site where Trump supporter John Franklin McGraw was arrested for sucker-punching a black protester and threatening to kill him.

“We are looking at the totality of these circumstances, including any additional charges against Mr. McGraw, including the potential of whether there was conduct on the part of Mr. Trump or the Trump campaign which rose to the level of inciting a riot,” Sheriff’s Office lawyer Ronnie Mitchell told The Fayetteville Observer.

At the rally, Trump asked the audience “Can’t we have a little more action than this?” when protesters were causing a disturbance. “See, in the good old days this didn’t use to happen, because they used to treat them very rough,” he said. “We’ve become very weak.”

Monday, Trump insisted that his rallies are a “love fest” and that there is no violence, yet a militia has been formed to “protect” rally attendees from what it calls “far-left agitators.”

Typical right-wing authoritarian behavior (both followers and leaders) is to compartmentalize thinking and ignore evidence that conflicts with positions that they have an emotional stake in.

Hair DrumpFührer knows very little about most things, including the consequences of his words and actions, foreign policy, domestic economy, running a government and how it differs from running a business.

But he is an entertainer and knows how to make a lot of empty statements with highly loaded emotional content to fire up his RWA followers.

When you work people into a uncontrollable frenzy, then you my friend have the after actions on your hands.
See if the law enforcement do this he gets more attention, if they don't do anything he can go to the next event or on national t.v and whine and b**********H, that's he's being singled out, this is what happens when your narcissistic, you never take responsibility for your own actions, your ego won't let you..

My opinion, charge him-----------------------I don't care---------------because if he becomes president, just imagine

In particular, I was thinking about the young girls shoved and tossed through the crowd of extremists, the sucker puncher, and I believe there was another very direct incident, too. I don't know the full details of the STL attack, but that one was pretty terrible looking, too.

Corey Lewandowski will likely be charged with felony assault, he grabbed reporter Michelle Fields and threw her to the ground. There were several witnesses and photographs of her badly bruised arm were posted on news sites.
Trump will be charged, Obama has stated trump will not be the next president and I believe he will do everything possible in his power to derail trump up to and including having the DOJ charge him with a felony.

I would like to think, would at this point begin to seriously doubt this whole kind of politics. Although I deeply fear a Trump presidency (in the face of a Democratic candidate without majority appeal) I think I can begin to see the possibility of a landslide in November against Trump. As an obviously very shrewd demagogue, I would expect him, once the nomination appears more or less assured, to take a sweeter tone and the craven MSM to lap it up. He could pick Rubio or Kasich as a running mate to broaden his appeal and project (or manipulate) a sense of responsibility. But if he continues this particular line, and as he always has in the past, doubles down on his controversial statements and stances, his political acceptability could plummet outside the RW bubble

Even if Trump is defeated in Nov, in what are fairly stable and economically at least not deep crisis times, come more immediate and urgent crises, then there is a new level of danger.

Bill Maher says on Real Time that a major terrorist attack could elect Trump; it seems to me that jihadists might urgently desire that outcome. We used to hear about jihadist twitter feeds in previous elections (eg regarding Kerry/Bush) but now so far crickets. Surely by this point many in those spheres have expressed thinking about Trump

Fayetteville (known as Fayettenam when I was a kid) is where Ft Bragg is.... so it's not representative of your average NC Town and probably a little more aggressively "conservative"....

But it would be great if such a charge came up.... just to show the average NCer does not condone such Trump Rally actions.

I'm sick of this loud-mouthed lout telling his troglodyte followers to beat up on people. It's sickening and he needs to be called on it and pay the consequences - not monetarily either.

My sense is that we should stop referring to Donald Trump as an entertainer. We did that with Ronald "Ray-Gun." We kept laughing at him.......until he was elected. Then there wasn't so much to laugh about.
Donald Trump is FAR more dangerous than Ronnie Ray-Gun. Ray-Gun destroyed the middle class. Donald Trump is inciting people to do the kinds of things that the Germans were incited to do back in the day. Donald Trump is a very, VERY dangerous man. I'm not laughing.
