It seems that we need to sacrifice people to the terrorists so that we don't have to fundamentally answer the tough questions. An imam spoke about death to homosexuals weeks before this incident.

I have rifles, slow to re-chamber bolt-action rifles that have a max capacity of five rounds.

I am FULLY against ALL HANDGUNS and High Capacity 11+ round magazines in semi-auto and select-fire "assault" (multiple fire options). Society does not need these.

But don't group all gun owners together and don't cry about all "guns" if you're referring to only HANDGUNS and / or Semi-Autos as most people are doing.
Anti-gun people are not helping themselves by mixing the many types of firearms into one "GET RID OF GUNS". We'll all have far more success by separating HANDGUNS and Semi-Autos from hunting rifles.

We bolt-action rifles owners should not be dumped into the same category.

such as 'yep, ima redneck, we all rednecks..', but it's unlikely that they align themselves as a "nut" of any kind.

MY point is that to make gains in controlling guns of the most killing potential = hand guns and hgih capacity magazines, it does not help our more sane side to generalize ALL FIREARM owners as gun nuts. It's very narrow-minded, it is very Trump-ish to do that, like saying "ALL Muslims are terrorists" just like Trump does, we all know it is wrong, and we should attempt to recognize that fighting against ALL firearm ownership, while it is only the hand guns and high capacity weapons that causing near 100% of the killings, is not helpful. Yes, you ARE lumping people into one category and that's not the fastest, nor brightest way to getting somewhere with gun control.

I suppose then that I am a 'gun nut', too. I'm a far-leftist, anti-handgun, tree-hugging, creature loving Californian who happens to own a collection of very beautiful walnut stock bolt-action rifles and a shotgun for target shooting and skeet.

The NRA could and should be deemed a terrorist group for efforts to scare and terrorize people into buying killing machines and advocating their use on other humans.

Seems likely that you are a previoulsy banned troll. If I'm incorrect I apologize.

It is my opinion that you do not have the thinking skills to separate one thing from the other such as a firearm that can shoot 13.3 rounds per second vs. one that can't even get a shot off in a second. Again, that type of thinking does the anti-auto weapons crowd -including myself- no help in the argument. It's Trump-ish extremism.

Open stupidity is what a lot of anti-gun-nutters do.

If the gub'mnt came out and said, 'we're going to outlaw ALL guns and if you possess one it's a 20 yr prison sentence', I would gleefully hand mine over, as would a lot of rifle owners that I know - everyone else would go to jail for a very very long time. Gun crime would eventually drop to near zero, like Australia or Japan.

But, that's not going to happen - Good luck with that. Your hate and fear continues.

12. REPORT: Wife of Orlando Jihadist Knew About Coming Attack; Says Tried to Stop
Tue Jun 14, 2016, 11:05 AM
Jun 2016

Orlando gunman Omar Mateen’s current wife, Noor Salman, has told the FBI that she drove Mateen to the Pulse nightclub on a prior occasion and that she tried to talk him out of conducting any kind of attack, officials told NBC News.

Law enforcement officials said authorities are considering filing criminal charges against her for failing to tell them what she knew before the attack, but no decision has been made yet.

Several officials familiar with what she has told the FBI said she was with him when he bought ammunition and a holster. She also once drove him to the nightclub because he wanted to see it in advance, but that she tried to dissuade him from doing anything, the officials said.

Several officials said she is cooperating with the investigation.
