A professional swimming association in Germany wants to reduce escalating sex attacks by refugees at public baths by training migrants to become pool lifeguards.
The Federal Association of German Swimming Professionals (BDS) says this would be 'an inclusive measure that would benefit everyone.'
Last month a secret police document was leaked in Duesseldorf voicing the 'grave concern' of police chiefs about escalating sex crimes carried out by refugees at public swimming baths.
BDS President Peter Haiyang added: 'We lack skilled workers. That's why it would be negligent not to use these resources.'
Many sexually repressed young Muslim men take the sight of women in skimpy bathing costumes as an unspoken statement that they want sex.
There have been several reports of rape and other sex attacks committed against women and children at public pools both in Germany and neighbouring Austria this year.
Many municipalities, including Munich, have begun displaying charts in numerous languages aiming to teach migrant to respect women and children at the local pool.
Now comes the quirky idea of turning them into lifeguards responsible for security, order and cleanliness, water quality monitoring and maintenance of technical equipment.
This, believes the group, would lead to a decrease in sex crimes.
Incredibly, BDS president Peter Harzheim claimed: 'Often it is the case that women feel sexually harassed by a group of migrants just because they look at them.

And how many of the reported incidents were of women complaining that they were just being "looked at"? I would bet zero.

(I understand you want to limit your indicments to Muslims only, but rape and sexual assault pre-date the Muslim faith by thousands of years, are a concern to women world-wide, and will happen regardless of whether the perpetrator is a Muslim, a Christian, a Wiccan or an atheist)

(11,841 posts)And much of it lays at the feet of the recent uncontrolled influx of people from areas where women have no rights. Where women are treated like crap. Where rape victims are themselves victimized. Yes, these are Muslim countries.
Yes, men listen to women every day here. My boss for the last 5 years is a woman. Seems like a lot of men are listening to a woman considering a woman is likely to be our next president

(63,221 posts)What are the chances that they are going to become good enough swimmers to be able to rescue a panicked, drowning victim? It's dangerous to replace qualified lifeguards with amateurs for the silly purpose of social engineering.

Prosecute and jail/deport the killers or sex offenders. Leave the innocent refugees and immigrants alone.

(11,841 posts)They're NOT prosecuting the criminals because they're scared of being called racists. And the more they try to sweep it under the rug, the stronger the far right gets. Its a road we dont want to go down, but thats going to be the result if the EU continues to ignore reality

(24,692 posts)We all know that the right will play up anything bad that refugees and 'illegal immigrants' do. The right is hostile to both groups both from an 'us vs them' worldview and from a fear-mongering is good politics point of view. There is no way we can stop that.
Germany, Sweden and other progressive countries are stumbling their way through accepting refugees while conservative countries build walls to keep them out.
The right may win this though I hope not.

(11,841 posts)They are going out of their way to keep ANY bad acts out of the people's view. These days, we all know how long a "secret" will be kept. The stories WILL get out and then it looks even worse. The better approach would be to come down hard on these criminals. It sends 2 messages; that the state will follow the law and protect you, and if you dont WANT to follow our laws then maybe this isnt the place FOR you
After that ax attack last week, one German politician even had the nerve to criticize the police for killing the attacker!! That attitude will just get more people fired up to "keep them out".

in 2 German cities on New Years eve. Two men claiming Iranian origin have been prosecuted, and given suspended sentences. That approach has been pathetic, to say the least.
A new approach needs to be taken.

...how, then, can you claim a war on women when your presumption is that every single one of these men is innocent? They're not being deported, because they aren't criminals. As they aren't criminals, they will need a job. This is a job. There seems to be a major disconnect somewhere.
Are you suggesting that the migrants themselves are an existential threat to the safety of the aggregate 'women'? While some would agree, it's not a common viewpoint here.

(23,147 posts)It doesn't feel like a good idea at all. Is the idea that these muslim lifeguard men will become numb to their urges by being over-exposed to scantily-dressed women?
Seems like electroshock therapy might be a more direct and useful approach. If they simply forget about their wack-a-doodle views of women, they might be a little more in control of their urges.
