Portland, Maine (CNN)A group of protesters at Donald Trump's rally here on Thursday stood up silently during the Republican nominee's speech and held up pocket copies of the Constitution.
They were quickly ejected by campaign staffers and drew fierce boos and jeers from the roughly 1,800 Trump supporters packed into the auditorium, the capacity of the venue.
The seven protesters held up pocket copies of the Constitution issued by the American Civil Liberties Union. It was not immediately clear whether the demonstrators were affiliated with a particular organization.
The ACLU responded on Twitter, saying: "Glad to see people are standing up for constitutional principles using their ACLU pocket Constitutions!"

Later in the article we're told that tRumps rally was interrupted five more times by protesters including several who shouted at tRump accusing him of being racist.

(11,519 posts)Be careful which one you buy, there's one printed by National Center for Constitutional Studies (NCCS) in Idaho that has quotes etc. from several founding fathers which are either incorrect or taken out of context to support right wing viewpoints. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups, the NCCS is a conspiracy-prone think tank founded by a leader known for his racist views. This is the version that Cliven Bundy waved during his standoff with federal marshals.

With some artfulness Hillary should be able to completely dismantle trump using the symbolism of his hatred for freedom and the thing we hold most dear, our Constitution.

(3,056 posts)My money is on them shouting, "Trump".
But I do love this idea

(11,519 posts)That's what happens when he surrounds himself with yes-men, he's grown accustomed to people being in total agreement with whatever he says that he can't handle a bit of dissent. I can envision President Obama dealing with this, and yes, he'd have given them a fine lesson on the constitution.

(45,447 posts)I started keeping it because of the complete nonsensical arguments right wingers had with me about how the Constitution can never change. Then I pull it out and show them the many amendments showing the changes over the years. Their second amendment was a change added to the original.
Also, I like how Trump's campaign feels threatened by the pocket constitutions. I mean come on people. It's even printed on white paper so that proves that Americans are white and brown people should get out.
