Trump hopes to change the topic to the economy as he seeks to shift course after horrible week

Source: Reuters

05 AUG 2016 AT 10:05 ET

Republican Donald Trump announced plans to address economic issues and backed off a claim that he had seen a video of cash being delivered to Iran on Friday, in signs he wants to steer away from controversial comments and get his White House campaign back on message.

Trump said he had created an economic advisory team and would release his plan to boost the U.S. economy in a speech on Monday.

Trump also said he had not seen a video carrying cash to Iran, as he had repeatedly said earlier this week, but rather had seen a clip showing a plane carrying some of five Americans who were freed from Iran in January.

“The plane I saw on television was the hostage plane in Geneva, Switzerland, not the plane carrying $400 million in cash going to Iran!” Trump tweeted early Friday morning.

Trump hotels

And tax breaks for the 1%

He thinks Mexico will move their factories here before he
builds the Trump Wall ... and Mexico will pay for it all

It ought to be a rich speech

He will rail about a dark, horrible economic hellscape and how bad things are. He talk about illegal immigrants taking millions of good paying jobs while Americans starve in the streets.
If anything, from campaign slogan to the convention to yesterday, he has framed out current state of affairs as one step away from a Mad Max dystopian future that only he can fix.
It's boilerplate political bullshit.
What makes it an almost impossible task is, by any measure, the economy is stronger than it been in years.
Especially for the top 20% of income earners, Don the Con's target audience. The other half of his target demographic is those making less that than $30,000 with a HS diploma or less in education and attend church 2 or more times a week. Otherwise known to the tRump campaign as "the mark".
His only hope is the money from one and the ignorance and bigotry of the other is enough to carry him to the WH.
What he doesn't, and some in the Republican Party now do realize, is there just isn't enough there to exploit anymore. Our nation is/has changed and fear and ignorance just isn't enough anymore.

...is create an economic advisory team of venture capitalists and hedge funders (though I suppose the one who's a poker player might be useful), to fix the economy. The economy that was broken 8 years ago, nearly destroyed the middle class, and would have plummeted us all into a 2nd great depression thanks to these very same types of venture capitalists and hedge funders.

The economy that is doing pretty well now.

Yeah, Donny, I think this will help everyone forget your incompetence, bring your numbers back up and show everyone how great you're going to make America once again. Stick with your strengths, right?

Can't believe I even need to add this --->

As for the money/hostage video of the plane he says he saw, I happen to have a video proving that he did see it....

Gonna go out on a limb and guess that his all-rich-man advisory team is going to recommend tax cuts for the rich, while the economy continues to expand in spite of Republican attempts to crash the economy after the last round of tax cuts for the rich expired.
