Trump Suggests Shooting Clinton, Her Supreme Court Picks, Or Both
Source: Huffington Post
Donald Trump on Tuesday warned his supporters that if Hillary Clinton were elected president and appointed members to the Supreme Court, there was nothing anyone could do about it but then added that, given the Second Amendment, maybe there was.
If she gets to pick her judges ― nothing you can do, folks, Trump said at a Wilmington, N.C., rally with a shrug. Although: the Second Amendment, people, maybe there is. I dont know.
What Trump was actually suggesting was not clear. However his veterans affairs adviser found himself in hot water when he said that Clinton should face a firing squad over her use of a private email server.
Trumps campaign did not respond to queries about his remark, but at least one person attending the rally appeared to sense the comment was out of bounds.

(22,047 posts)Sorry if this sounds didactic, dubyaiprecession. Anarchy, noun, a state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority.
Donald Trump is all about authority where he is the one in control. He has stated that he'll effectively throw out the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, ignore the separation of powers and very possibly use nuclear weapons. He really wants to be a dictator and control all the levers of power. If elected president, it's likely he would curtail most of our rights and expand the police militarily in order to enforce his rule. This is not anarchy, in fact, it's quite the opposite.
Sean Hannity, of course, is a jackass and needs a powerful father figure to tell him what to do.
Both of them are idiots.

(2,597 posts)Here's the deal: if the average person in the country made a statement like that and it was in a public place and someone made a complaint to management or called the FBI, it would get the speaker's ass hauled in by the Secret Service and they'd be interviewed and probably looked at pretty strenuously.
Remarks like that are taken seriously by the Secret Service and the country has laws against language that can incite violence or cause a mass public reaction. Shouting "FIRE!" in a crowded theater that results in a mass evacuation that leads to other patrons' injury or death will get that person arrested on felony charges and would not only result in prosecution, it could also lead to civil suits by those injured in the melee.
That very similar remark lost Sharron Angle the election last cycle and allowed Harry Reid to keep his Senate seat (though, truthfully, he probably would have won it any way). In any event, it was the last nail in her coffin, so to speak. And people were wondering if this despot-in-waiting had "turned a corner" because of his tepid and half way human-sounding speech yesterday. Everyone was musing if this meant he had put his typical loose cannon behavior in a storage box. Well, I guess this answers that question. It was little more than 24 hours later and this is his answer to that question. Resoundingly so.

He looked rather aghast. Then went on to follow his fill-in cohost, Donny Deutsch, who insists Trump was joking. Yeah. My Ass. I tweeted to both of them: "For the Love of God, it WASN'T a joke!" And, having watched that video clip several times now, not only here on the internet but ON CNN and ON MSNBC, nobody was laughing. (51 posts)From what I saw, at least 20% of the audience was grinning and nodding their head like they do anytime he says something they think they should "react" to. (Not sure how many of those people are really engaged in the moment, TBH.)
In my mind, that's actually the scarier part. There was a bearded man in red who seemed to say "oh wow" right afterward, looked disturbed by it, looked to the woman next to him who was laughing, and he seemed to slowly accept "oh ok this was a joke, I guess I'll smile." The fact that so many people were totally fine with it seems way worse than no reaction at all.
Then again, there were quite a few people who got up and left after that. So I guess there's hope yet for some of us.

Save for later
Donald Trump has hinted at the assassination of Hillary Clinton by supporters of gun rights.
The Republican nominee was speaking at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, about the next presidents power to appoint supreme court justices. If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks, he said, adding: Although the second amendment people maybe there is, I dont know.
The second amendment to the constitution protects the right of Americans to bear arms. Trump has accused his Democratic rival of wanting to abolish it, a charge that she denies.
This is simplewhat Trump is saying is dangerous, said Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook. A person seeking to be the president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.

(2,597 posts)At some point, though, crap like this reinforces in most reasonable people's minds the fact that he is not decent enough to have the most important job in the free world. Of course it won't matter to his staunchest supporters. These folks are the folks whose forebears supported and participated in KKK raids and rallies and all matter of extremist, knee-jerk fringe groups. They masqueraded (for awhile) as the Tea Party, but anyone old enough to remember the '60s and before all know what this is about. It's never changed and the quieter Republicans know it too. Most won't admit it or they'll claim they're supporting the Republicans because they're fiscal conservatives and they just can't conscience a Democratic-run government, but you scratch the surface of most of them deep enough and you'll find the same scared, sad, sorry, bigots as the loudest and craziest zealots of this sad ass party is at its core. What's happening, though, is the country is becoming younger and more and more diverse, and many more women than men are achieving ever higher education and professional degrees and careers. Women and younger, more diverse and more educated voters will know what this is all about, and they're turning away from this despot, Putin-wannabe more and more by the day.
Sometimes I wonder (and I've actually wondered it from the beginning really), is this guy really serious about wanting to the POTUS. I think it's just his nature, but I'm actually really becoming more and more convinced he wants to be removed from the ticket by the muckety-mucks. I don't think he finds anything but the podium attractive about this and the day-to-day actual job of being President would be a bore to him. Maybe he just wants to see the furor that would result if he was taken off the ticket and the entire Republican party just implodes and the "base" explodes onto the streets. I swear. He's like a really nasty version of The Joker unleashed on the American public. SMDH.

So this shit is just more of the same, but seriously piled higher and deeper. This is now officially scary.
And what's even more infuriating - he's just flat-out LYING about her about the 2nd Amendment. She has NEVER said she wants to do away with the 2nd Amendment! Not EVER! Not even slightly! She has never said she wants to change it, amend it, update it, or anything of the kind! In truth, she HAS said quite the opposite - that she supports it and respects the right to bear arms. WILMINGTON, N.C. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, speaking at a rally in Wilmington, N.C., on Tuesday, appeared to encourage gun owners to take action if Hillary Clinton is elected president and appoints judges who oppose gun rights.
The mogul said that Clinton "wants to abolish, to essentially abolish the Second Amendment," a charge she has flatly denied. He said that if Clinton becomes president, she could appoint judges that would leave Americans nearly helpless on this front.
"By the way, and if she gets to pick if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks," Trump warned. "Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."
It was not clear whether Trump was inciting gun owners to use their weapons against judges or a sitting president, or was encouraging some other action.

(4,033 posts)Evidently the Donald still hasn't read the Constitution. They would have to amend the Constitution to nullify part of the Second Amendment. When Prohibition was enacted we amended the Constitution with the 18th Amendment. When we decided it was all a mistake, we had to amend the Constitution again. We couldn't 'repeal' the 18th Amendment, we had to pass the 21st Amendment.
Does the Donald what is involved in amendmending the Constitution? I seriously doubt it.

(18,470 posts)Yeah he could. 18 U.S. Code § 879 says making threats against both the wife of a former President and now a candidate for the Presidency are big no-nos. It doesn't say a fucking thing about not being valid if the idiot who makes such threats later says he's only joking. And it says he could be fined or imprisoned for up to 5 years.
