Trump supporter fears 'civil war' if Clinton wins

Source: The Hill

A supporter of Donald Trump on Tuesday predicted "civil war" if Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is elected.

A woman attending a rally with the GOP nominee's running mate urged Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to prevent Clinton from becoming president.

"If Hillary Clinton wins the election ... and she's on that Second Amendment, taking your guns away, there is going to be a civil war in this state" or elsewhere in the country, the woman who identified herself as Brenda predicted, to some applause in Albuquerque, N.M.

"But, if President Trump would win," the woman continued, to hollers from the crowd, "there's also going to be a war, because Obama is going to pull that martial law on the United States."

Found a way to slam the south and suggest the nation would be better off without them but not abandon the poor slaves.

Guess what? The north absolutely did not want blacks living there. Passed laws to prevent it.

Racism is America's sin, not just we southerners. It just happens that for most of American history the black Americans lived in the South. But when you see all the magnificent antibellum buildings in the north almost all of them were built with labor stolen from enslaved blacks. Because much of the wealth in the north was based on slavery in the south.

So get off your high horse. Many of us are working to win Democratic majorities down here.

was "resolved" contained the seeds of current day political conflicts. . wish I could find the article about this - traces origins of red state/blue state politics back to their origins in various European countries/cultures of 1700s/1800s - where people came from and where they dispersed to before and after civil war is very illuminating. Obviously the lines are drawn now in some very different places than in 1865 and obviously "cutting them loose" is not an option now nor was it really back then either. Just an idle musing borne out of frustration and wishing I could wave a magic wand and have these people just frikkin GO AWAY.

Still... I see how my way of expressing that was not very good at all and could be offensive to southerners - sorry, not intended.

And the history of the regions of the country is very interesting.

Some say that the foundation of the civil war was laid by having religious puritans founding New England and pretty much greed treasure hunters settling Virginia. And that insult is directed at my family as we settled in Virginia in the 1660's.

But there was actually an active and robust antislave movement in the South until the 1830's when advocating abolition was made illegal and socially unacceptable.

Hopefully I will live to see the day when the south returns to the Democratic Party. But the Democratic party of LBJ not Andrew Jackson!

Have a nice day.

Trump WANTS violence. He WANTS disruption. He WANTS his supporters out there in the streets trying to delegitimize the election, and with it the government of the US after he gets soundly thrashed at the polls. And at the rate he is going he is going to get violence - sometime between now and Nov 9.

The context of the statement included "If Hillary Clinton wins the election ... and she's on that Second Amendment, taking your guns away, there is going to be a civil war in this state." This is the same rhetoric you hear every four years from the goobers. Too bad they're not smart enough to figure out that, even after decades of this silly 'take away your guns' promise made by their candidate, we're all still waiting for it to happen.

The only difference was the way the 2nd amendment was referenced this time.

The whole race-war/revolution meme is old news in RW & White racist fantasy circles and has been re-stated over at least the last 60 years nearly every time a Democrat seemed likely to win. It is fear-driven in the same way false claims of wide-spread rape by freed Black men were spread during the post civil war period.

They said the same thing about hippies and other outsiders when they were the selected "dangerous mob".

When the 1st Gulf war loomed and there were marches in protest against starting it the news media received and on occasion repeated rumors that the the marchers were going to riot.

Winger projection of their own fear and anger: "Paranoia Strikes Deep, Into your lives it will creep...

Because they will return to the anonymity of their daily misery, obedience and humiliations, taking it out on their selves, wives, children, dogs or deers, just as they did before. It is in fact extremely depressing to witness the nation's third and fourth world gesticulating in pain, grimacing what's left of their pride and trying to make logical sense of their lives with the tiny amount of knowledge they were able to garner along the way.

Trump is a fear monger and a hate monger,

he preys on uneducated people who believe his lies. His whole Hitler act is about trying to get people so afraid of his opponent and get people to hate his opponent so much that they will vote for him.

If he were a little more polished and a little less brash, it might would, but Trump is basically a fuck-up. He has fucked up every business that he has gotten his hands on. This business of pretending to want to be the president, he has already fucked that up to. All he can do at this point is point his little tiny finger at others, blame others, and call other people names.

This piece of human shit has done himself in.
