Corey Lequieu becomes first Oregon standoff defendant sent to prison in conspiracy case

Source: The Oregonian

Corey Lequieu became the first defendant Tuesday to be sentenced in the federal conspiracy case stemming from the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in January.

U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown sent Lequieu to prison for 2 ½ years followed by three years of supervised release. Lequieu, in custody in the Multnomah County Jail, also must pay restitution in an amount to be determined later.

In May, Lequieu, 46, became the first of 26 standoff defendants charged with conspiracy to plead guilty. He admitted to impeding federal employees through threats, intimidation or force from working at the refuge outside Burns.

The conspiracy charge carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison, but federal prosecutors recommended that Lequieu serve less time as part of a plea agreement and under sentencing guidelines. Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Gabriel said the government considered that Lequieu was the first in the case to take responsibility when making the offer.

Conservative militia requests/encourages killing of police.

Starts about 10:40 on the timeline

One of our Christian, patriot, conservative militia heros encouraging supporters to come shoot the police when they conquered and captured an unmanned Federal nature preserve in Oregon.

Where were our conservatives to call this out as wrong?

Our conservatives have many more guns than black folks do.

Then we have republican Michelle Fiore.

than you (I'm guessing) feel guilt for supposedly left-wing PETA cult animal murders. There are many, many different kinds of conservatives and positions. As for speaking out, not being invited to any of the millions of socializations where it was deplored doesn't meant they didn't happen.

This one earned his prison sentence, and fines that probably will hurt badly, so good. No one was killed and the system worked.

This kind of broad-brush hostility is divisive, destructive behavior whether it comes from people on the left or -- FOR INSTANCE -- from those people on the right who love to blame you for things you would never support.

Where were you when you were deploring the corruption some love to assume you support? By your standard, apparently you were supposed to be in their living rooms instead of your own.
