Trump Says He Is Sorry, (Sort Of)

Source: Huff Post

In a rare moment, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Thursday expressed some remorse for his divisive rhetoric and personal attacks.

“Sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words, or you say the wrong thing,” he said at a rally in North Carolina. “I have done that, and I regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues.”

As for what he regrets, Trump did not specify which of his many offensive comments he was referring to. But the apology itself was noteworthy, given that the real estate mogul has staked his reputation on being unapologetic.

Trump also pledged to “always tell you the truth.”

The GOP presidential nominee was speaking from prepared remarks, the third such speech he has delivered in a week. The more disciplined approach comes during a tumultuous week for the campaign, which featured a major shakeup in leadership as well as more flagging poll numbers.

This happened this afternoon...I think it does not mean much, but as the story points out, it is some remorse. But no specifics at all..

Now they can just say he misspoke, and sleep soundly.

He is not even acknowledging his opponents.

He doesn't want the job in the history books as "Candidate who got his ass handed to him the WORST, in the history of our nation..."

This is a reaction to Bad News/Harsh Reality. He's burnt too many bridges though...

I wouldn't believe a word he says

He's toned down twitter.

Used the teleprompter for his last three speeches to control his message which is painful to watch as he's obviously reading the teleprompter and not looking at the audience (and FOX used to joke about Obama and his teleprompter that was so slick it was hard to tell)

Like a grade school kid, the polls have spanked him and he'll try to behave for a while - until he gets frustrated and the criticism pulls him off.

This is the remorse stage trying to get the abused person to feel sorry for them.

Once he gets some sympathy or approval he will be right back at it - especially with Breitbart egging him on.

And even if he did, it's far too little, far, far, far too late.

He must have been dosed with xanax again.

Any bets on how long he can keep this up?

standing, most disgusting worst! I guess he will then announce he went because Obama heartlessly stayed away on vacation, trying to create a Bush Katrina moment. The media will buy it and cover it as the new asswipe with a heartfelt concern for the welfare of us poor minions.
