A man who previously served as a Laramie Police Department officer and Albany County Sheriffs Office deputy was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of killing a University of Wyoming student nearly 31 years ago, according to an LPD news release.
Laramie resident Fredrick J. Lamb, 67, faces first-degree murder and first-degree arson charges in connection with the October 1985 fatal stabbing of Shelli R. Wiley, 22, whose apartment was subsequently destroyed in a fire. In 1985, a first-degree murder conviction was punishable by life in prison or the death penalty, while first-degree arson carried a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison.

This does not surprise me. We all heard about Shelli on campus (I arrived in 1992), and the story was still on our lips. Good to know she gets justice.
Damn it.
