Bush Institute founding director endorses Clinton

By Louis Nelson

08/22/16 07:30 PM EDT

Former President George W. Bush’s Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy is the latest high-ranking Republican to announce his support for Hillary Clinton’s White House bid.

James Glassman, who is also the founding director of the George W. Bush Institute at the former president’s library in Dallas, told MSNBC Monday evening that Clinton is “by far the superior candidate.”

“She has the experience. She’s got the character. She has the values,” Glassman said. “She is the kind of candidate I support and that, as I say, millions of republicans are supporting.”

Glassman joins a number of former Bush officials in backing Clinton. Former deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage and Lezlee Westine, a former aide to President Bush, have announced their support, as has former Bush State Dept. and NSC official Kori Schake..................

Once he had won the nomination his people might have been have been able to repair the damage if he had just reined in the stupid and stfu but he didnt and now its to late as Hillary is about to beat him like a drum, I just hope when he goes down for the count that he takes the entire Republican party with him because they deserve it.

Liberals held W. Bush as the most reviled president since Nixon. Now, I actually hear my liberal friends talking about how Bush wasn't so bad on some issues. His Africa/AIDS policies were good, his defense of Islam, and a few other things.

When the libs start hunting for W.'s good points, and W.'s associates start endorsing the Democratic candidate - and a CLINTON, no less - then we know the Republican party is pretty much a fucked-up band of trolls. More fucked up than ever.

Todays Repubs are a danger to the country and the planet. I'm getting more liberal by the day. I'm putting $100/month into Hillary's campaign until election day. I urge everyone else to do the same. The supreme court is the most important reason why.

it suppresses the vote more than encourages it.

Along with death-squad champion negroponte and war criminal kissinger, why does anyone want their support?

If the leader of the kkk were to endorse Clinton over trump, some idiot in her campaign would probably see that as positive news too.

7. you really think this "suppresses the vote"? Not all repubs are responsible for BushCo's wars

Mr. Glassman had nothing to do with either Iraq or Afghanistan wars ---he joined the * admin. late, a year before Bush's 2nd term ended, and then became head of the Bush Inst. Don't paint all repubs with the warhawk brush b/c some are more intelligent than that. Mr. G is one of those more thoughtful ones.

You do get judged by the company you keep. The Clinton campaign bragged about death-squad negroponte, I see no difference here. If I thought they were "thoughtful" or approved of their actions to the point that their endorsements carried weight, I wouldn't be on this website at all.
