Simmering tensions between a father and a son over computer use were allegedly the catalyst for a fatal stabbing in Sydney's south-west.
Police allege the time 20-year-old Daniel Chapman spent on the computer had been a long-standing issue within his family home in Moorebank, near Liverpool.
As has happened many times before, his father, Stephen Chapman, 56, pulled up Daniel on Sunday night about his computer usage.
"I believe the son was on the internet quite regularly and, when he is asked to come to the dinner table, he continues on the computer," Liverpool Local Area Command Detective Chief Inspector Ken Hardie said on Monday.
