Hillary Clintons campaign manager Robby Mook said Tuesday that he thinks Donald Trumps campaign now seems a bit panicked because of the GOP presidential nominees bad last week, which included the recent revelation that he declared a loss of nearly a billion dollars in his 1995 tax returns, as well as an early-morning Twitter attack on a former Miss Universe.
In an interview on CBS This Morning, Mook was asked how Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine will break through at the debate against his opponent Mike Pence Tuesday night.
I think the Trump campaign is a bit panicked right now, he said. They need to change the narrative, they need to change the message, theyve had a bad week so were expecting them to throw a lot of mud. Its going to be very interesting to see how Mike Pence responds to questions about Trumps behavior in the last week.
Mook wondered if Pence would defend Trumps 5 a.m. tweets about former Miss Universe Alicia Machado -- in which he called her disgusting, and urged Twitter users to check out [her] sex tape -- and the new revelations by the New York Times that he might have avoided paying income taxes for up to 18 years.

(22,669 posts)Their whole argument all along has been 'not Hillary.' But their alternative answer for anyone willing to listen to them is far far worse than anything they've imagined about Hillary. Then there was Hillary's utter destruction of 30 years of tearing her down. It took her 20 minutes to do that and 70 to lay out what she's for and been fighting for all her life.

Instead CBS is worried about a guy playing by the weird IRS rules developed over decades by paid off politicians and talk of beauty contestants. By the way, why is it that Miss Universe is always from planet Earth?

(21,753 posts)If anybody is still not convinced that Trump hasn't got the basic humanity needed to be the President of the whole f'ing USA, then they will never be convinced.
Now is the time for Hillary to dazzle them with policy.
For crying out loud, the Republican and Trump's platform is;
1) Tax cuts for rich and corporations, even though Donald is telling everyone that the rich and corporations already pay zero tax
2) Reforms (cuts) to Social Security and Medicare
3) Less rights for workers, voters, minorities
4) Less government regulation, such as eliminating the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Parks system, the National Labor Relations Board, and anything else that protects the little guys from the big guys.
Clinton should simply go down the list of items in the Republican Party Platform, and force Trump to defend them.
