Northolt 'armed' stand-off: Homes evacuated (UK)

Police have evacuated about 80 people from their homes in a stand-off with a man reported to be in possession of "dangerous items".

A 200m cordon has been set up in Wood End Lane, Northolt, north-west London, as armed police and negotiators speak to the man.

Officers were called to the address at about 01:00 BST over concerns the man had hazardous materials in the house.

Emergency services have not attempted to enter the property.

LIVE: Police evacuate Newton Abbot homes after reports of 'unexploded bomb'

RESIDENTS have been evacuated from homes in Newton Abbot after reports of 'an unexploded bomb' in Tudor Street.

Police have told everyone within a 100 metre radius of a property in the road to leave their homes.

A 200 metre outer cordon was erected in the town after a suspicious device was discovered on Saturday afternoon.

Residents in the street said they had been told there is an unexploded bomb but they did not know where exactly. Some said the have been warned the incident could take five or six hours.
