'All of these liars will be sued': Trump on claims of sexual misconduct

'All of these liars will be sued': Trump on claims of sexual misconduct
David Jackson , USA TODAY 12:37 p.m. EDT October 22, 2016

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump cautioned supporters on Friday that if they didn't win the election come November, they would "lose the country." "This is it, folks. This is it," he told supporters at Newtown, Pennsylvania rally. (Oct. 21) AP

Seeking to re-set the presidential race, Donald Trump unveiled his "closing arguments" speech Saturday that included an agenda for his first 100 days in office and attacks on Hillary Clinton, the media and critics in general.

"They are trying to poison the mind of the American voter," Trump said of the media during remarks in Gettysburg, Pa.

He also vowed to file lawsuits against the women who have accused him in recent weeks of inappropriate sexual behavior, saying: "All of these liars will be sued after the election is over."

This was to be his first 100 days speech but this is the headline. Idiot

(among so many) is that apparently he has NO idea how the US Government works. He is going to appoint Supreme Court Justices that will 'take a close look at Hillary's email server' and 'get them to sign bills'?? WTF? He is going to impose term-limits on Congress?? (Uh, Constitutional Amendment he is going to E.O?) He is going to abolish the EPA and OSHA? He is going to 'cut taxes'? Oh, and build a wall. Where the hell does he think he's going to get the money from? Donnie, boy ... Congress has to pass an appropriation bill to include the billions it would cost to build the wall. ... Oh wait, I forgot, Mexico is going to pay for the wall. ... Pssst, POTUS can't simply order another country to do something and I have a sneaking suspicion that trying to invade Mexico might just get you couped out of office.

And, in his spare time he is going to sue all the women who have accused him of sexual assault?

This man needs to be voted into a psychiatric facility by a 3-judge panel who finds that he is a definite danger to others!!

supporters for whom Trump is merely a mirror.

David Souter, speaking in New Hampshire in 2012 (Maddow showed the tape last week):

Some of the aspects of current American govt that people on both sides find frustrating are in part a function of the inability of people to understand how govt can and should function. It is a product of civic ignorance.

What i worry about is a remark that Benjamin Franklin made, and Susan Leahy quoted Jefferson at the beginning, about how an ignorant people can never remain a free people. Democracy cannot survive too much ignorance.

Franklin in effect had a comment to which the Jefferson comment is a kind of an answer or response. You have probably heard this but it bears repeating. Franklin was asked by someone I think on the streets of Philadelphia shortly after the 1787 Convention adjourned, what kind of govt the Constitution would give us if it was adopted. Franklin's famous answer was, "a Republic if you can keep it." You can't keep it in ignorance.

I don't worry about our losing republican govt in the US because I'm afraid of a foreign invasion. I don't worry about it because I think there is going to be a coup by the military as has happened in some other places. What I worry about is that when problems are not addressed, people will not know who is responsible. And when the problems get bad enough, as they might do for example with another serious terrorist attack, as they might do with another financial meltdown, some one person will come forward and say "give me total power and I will solve this problem."

That is how the Roman Republic fell. Augustus became Emperor not because he arrested the Roman Senate. He became emperor because he promised he would solve problems that were not being solved. If we know who is responsible, I have enough faith in the American people to demand performance from those responsible. If we don't know, we will stay away from the polls. We will not demand it. And the day will come when someone will come forward and we and the govt will in effect say 'take the ball and run with it, do what you have to do.' That is the way democracy dies. If something is not done to improve the level of civic knowledge, that is what you should worry about at night.

there basically aren't any. The kids take US History but unless teachers put lessons in a current as well as historic context, they don't get the civics part.

most likely it was a gradual process. I'm out of the loop in terms of education in public schools.

Since the Naturalization Test has civics questions, immigrants have a better education in our system of government than from-birth Americans. Perhaps that's what so threatens Trump - he knows he's not as well educated.

It's appalling that civics is not a required class/course in high school.

Or, does she just bring the business and speak to the cameras. In California, you hear of Patricia Glazer and Jennifer Keller winning these huge jury verdicts and being top trial attorneys, but do not recall any headlines where Gloria Allred actually is involved in a jury win. Put another way, Johnny Cochran was definitely a well-known media savy attorney, but he was also a very good trial attorney who, you know, tried cases before juries. I would like to see the victims hiring a well known trial attorney to send the message to Trump that they are not afraid to take him to trial.
