Trump vows to weaken US media ‘power structure’ if elected

Source: Reuters

22 OCT 2016 AT 17:28 ET

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump promised on Saturday to foil a proposed deal for AT&T to buy Time Warner if he wins the Nov. 8 election, arguing it was an example of a “power structure” rigged against both him and voters.

Trump, whose candidacy has caused ruptures in his party, listed his policy plans for the first 100 days of his presidency in a campaign speech in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, near the site of a Civil War battlefield and a celebrated address by President Abraham Lincoln. But he also defiantly raised personal grievances, describing how, if elected, he would address them from the White House in a way he said would benefit Americans.

Moments after promising Americans that he represented a hopeful break from the status quo, he promised to sue nearly a dozen women who have come forward in the last two weeks to accuse him of sexual assault, calling them liars. And he added a new threat to his repeated castigation of U.S. media corporations, which he says cover his campaign unfairly to help Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

“They’re trying desperately to suppress my vote and the voice of the American people,” Trump, who often rails against media outlets and journalists covering his events, told supporters in his speech. Trump has not provided evidence for his assertion that the election would be rigged.

Does he know that Comcast owns NBC?

Jeez Trump's a looney!

“They’re trying desperately to suppress my vote and the voice of the American people,” Trump, who often rails against media outlets and journalists covering his events, told supporters in his speech.

No Donald, we're trying to suppress the voices of your basket of deplorables, which any honorable country might do. People who threaten violence lose their rights in my opinion.

away from Faux Snooze and to whatever media conglomerate he plans to eventually launch. Breitbart appears to be in the running to be the "news" (propaganda) provider for that venture.

its too late, corporations are people thanks to your conservative judges, you can't do a thing to those monopolies. Poor sniffles, the media is really going to skewer him now, the wrath of multi billionaires against his lowly millions.

He has no concept of the division of powers. He actually thinks the President can do whatever the fuck he wants.

Anyone that votes for him should get LOSER tattooed on their fucking forehead.

After they gave him so much free time, too.

Until the 2005, admission of being a sexual predator, tape came out and then they had a big problem making him seem normal.

Hi everyone! First post here!

Sounds like Trump wants to do away with something called the 1st Amendment. All this sounds to me like he's beyond desperate right now, and will get more desperate in the next 17 days. He knows he's going down, but not until he can find something else crazy to say. Trump should take a look why the media seem to be against him...he's doing it to himself! Meanwhile, Hillary has to just go about in her daily business which is acting professional and she won't have a problem.

I figured some media outlets would say how the race is "tightening". Yeah whatever. Saw this coming. They don't want a landslide, nobody will tune in or click on stories to read about it. I usually study information at 538 dot com and shows Hillary in what Nate Silver calls the "Obama" zone. This means right now she would win the same amount as Obama did in 2012, which was by 130 some electoral votes. She's getting close to the "blowout" zone as well and is projected at 86% chance of winning. But maybe this is a good thing, it will get more democrats to get out and vote. We all need to vote, the bigger the margin the better Donald will just give up and concede rather than continue to act like a bafoon. Please everyone...GO OUT AND VOTE!!!

I spoke with my dad a few nights ago and he thinks that Trump never wanted to be president to start with, but never thought he'd get this far...knocking off 16 other candidates. But Hillary will be the brick wall he'll run into. This is Hillary's wall! Nobody going to go through that one! Good will prevail over evil, so let's get out there, vote and send a message to all republicans, hate will not be tolerated!

"It may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS," {Les Moonves} said of the presidential race.
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/leslie-moonves-donald-trump-may-871464

golly gee, Mr. Moonves, i wonder how the shareholders are going to like your new improved power structure where your company can't acquire jack shit or merge with anyone because the Donald doesn't approve. bet that's gonna send your stock prices through the roof won't it? it'll almost be like investing in a normal company, without all the potential for obscene profits gumming up the works.

maybe it will be "damn good for CBS" after all, eh?

So he's going to have to either take over or get rid of the media outlets.
