Trump brand loses luster with affluent

Source: AP

NEW YORK (AP) — Event planner Beth Bernstein decided she had had enough with Donald Trump after his 2005 hot-mic boasts about groping women came to light earlier this month. She removed photos of weddings she had thrown at a Trump hotel in Chicago from her website, wrote to hotel staff to remove her from the list of "preferred vendors" and posted a sort of call to arms on her blog.

"I simply cannot bring myself to walk in the door there any longer," wrote the owner of SQN Events.

Bernstein is not alone. Rates for rooms at Trump's new D.C. hotel are being slashed as travelers weigh their options, and smartphone data suggest fewer people are visiting his properties compared to rival venues nearby.

Will Johnson, an analyst at research firm BAV Consulting, which monitors brand perception for 3,500 brands, said that the Trump brand was "collapsing" among people with a household income of over $100,000 a year.

Herein lies a lesson for those who idolize reality stars.

If they were good at anything else they would be doing it!

I think 'The most interesting man in the world' needs company.

I would donate to a Go Fund Me for that!

For him to think all the sex/party/sexual abuse stuff he did would never come to light is incredibly dumb.

It's like he's never heard of oppo research.

What a maroon, and good for us.

He's bringing the repugs and his so-called brand down with him.

The election in two weeks should be the final stake in his heart.

Woohoo!

.... he would sell his (so called) luxury hotels and resorts and trade them for the Motel 6ix chain. At least his supporters could afford to stay there to prop up his brand.

He claims it was worth billions even though he doesn't have the actual dollars on paper anywhere. The brand was valued by him to be billions...in his own mind.

Stores have stopped selling his crap. Event planners have stopped booking his hotels. Celebrity chefs have pulled their restaurants from his buildings. He's been losing investors. He's got a long history of screwing his contractors and generally being difficult to work with.

Even here in DC, our mayor called up Ivanka and asked her to get her Dad to stop bullying local businesses who don't want to be associated with his shitty hotel. Trump's been creating a lot of business for lawyers.

They signed contracts with him before he launched his campaign. They pulled out because they don't want to be associated with such a toxic individual. So of course he's suing them for breaking the contract.

The most famous one is probably chef Jose Andres, who is also openly supporting Hillary. There's a whole Chefs for Hillary group that is also working to feed campaign volunteers and swap recipes like Andres's "Make Gazpacho Great Again" soup recipe.
