White nationalists plot Election Day show of force

Source: Politico

Neo-Nazi leader Andrew Anglin plans to muster thousands of poll-watchers across all 50 states. His partners at the alt-right website “the Right Stuff” are touting plans to set up hidden cameras at polling places in Philadelphia and hand out liquor and marijuana in the city’s “ghetto” on Election Day to induce residents to stay home. The National Socialist Movement, various factions of the Ku Klux Klan and the white nationalist American Freedom Party all are deploying members to watch polls, either “informally” or, they say, through the Trump campaign.

The Oath Keepers, a group of former law enforcement and military members that often shows up in public heavily armed, is advising members to go undercover and conduct “intelligence-gathering” at polling places, and Donald Trump ally Roger Stone is organizing his own exit polling, aiming to monitor thousands of precincts across the country.

Energized by Trump’s candidacy and alarmed by his warnings of a “rigged election,” white nationalist, alt-right and militia movement groups are planning to come out in full force on Tuesday, creating the potential for conflict at the close of an already turbulent campaign season.

“The possibility of violence on or around Election Day is very real,” said Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center. “Donald Trump has been telling his supporters for weeks and weeks and weeks now that they are about to have the election stolen from them by evil forces on behalf of the elites.”

as well as Harrisburg and several other minority heavy cities in the state that "poll watchers" are threatening to harass. If simply caught with it, they likely wont get into too much trouble. Hopefully an enterprising minority plainclothes cop wanders past one of these schmucks when they are trying to distribute.

I somehow doubt the bigot brigade will make sure the recipients of the booze are 21, either.

He totally seems like a natural for Drumpf and I'd bet money this hate filled jerk a supporter of the orange racist jerk. Yes, I'm stereotyping, but you know if he was brown skinned they'd be pushing how that person is a supporter of Hillary's. The RW media bias is astounding.

Hillary is likely to win. But....there is something very very wrong about 40 or so percent of this nation. And the dark underbelly, the alt right Neo Nazi types, are a powder keg, they are mentally defective.

They are 40% of registered voters. Over 50% of Americans don't register to vote.

If everyone actually voted, it would marginalize these people. That's why r's are so against insta-registration, DMV auto registration, etc.

While it's great that Obamas post-presidency is going to include working on gerrymandering, it would be good to include getting all Americans to vote and making voting easier, not harder.

What can he do out of office?!?!?! And why couldn't he have maybe touched on that and mentioned it while he was in office?

That's right. Wouldn't want to hurt his "bipartisan" bonafides that served him so well in congress and the media.

Vote by mail, put it in a secrecy envelope, and put it in a drop box.

It makes voter intimidation a lot more difficult.
