Ryan Urges Comey To Disclose If He Finds A Clinton Email 'Smoking Gun'

Source: Talking Points Memo

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) urged FBI Director James Comey to disclose publicly if he finds a "smoking gun" in the newly discovered batch of emails related to Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server.

Ryan's comments came in response to a question from conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, who asked whether Comey should publicize a "smoking gun" if he finds one.

Ryan first empathized with Comey's decision to notify Congress that he was reviewing emails related to the Clinton private server probe.

"Yeah, look, I understand why he did what he did because imagine if he didn’t and we found out after the fact that he was sitting on this before the election. So I clearly understand why he did what he did," Ryan replied.

the "imagine if he didn't and we found out after the fact that he was sitting on this before the election" argument is in direct conflict with this long-standing fbi policy.

ryan is seemingly advocating completely replacing this policy with "disclose everything that might remotely be relevant to an election", or at least, anything that might help republicans....

One of the things that has always irked me was why PBO didn't replace all of the

The Rs have openly admitted they hate government.

Another half ass comment by Ryan. The man is incapable of any semblance of a strong decision - yet is is the Speaker of the House. " Release the info only if it has damaging information." How petty. Along the same lines, he'll vote for Trump but not endorse him. Now there's some real leadership. I guess it really doesn't matter. His days as Speaker are about over. What a poor representation by someone who would like to run the country.

"Yeah, look, I understand why he did what he did because imagine if he didn’t and we found out after the fact that he was sitting on this before the election.

He sent a letter to eight members of Congress (but first to a Republican, who of course leaked it), about emails which he had no idea who sent or received them, on a laptop NOT belonging to Clinton that the FBI had had for weeks, and about which he had not yet bothered to obtain a warrant so the FBI could look at them. in doing so, he ignored his boss's advice as well as FBI/DOJ's protocalls, and very possibly violated the Hatch Act.

Ryan is supposed to be smart, but he once again proves himself a sniveling, cowardly, incompetent hack.
