Police searching for congressman John Conyerss son

Source: washington post

Police are searching for the 21-year-old son of Rep. John Conyers Jr., a student at the University of Houston.

Carl Conyers was last seen by his roommate at their apartment in Houston on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department. He shaved his beard before he was reported missing, police said.

John Conyers represents Michigan’s 13th District, which includes Detroit. He is the most senior member of Congress; in 2014, he was elected to his 26th term in office. He’s a founding member and dean of the Congressional Black Caucus, and the highest-ranking Democrat and a former chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

Mike Rosen, a spokesman for the University of Houston, said school officials and campus police are cooperating with Houston police and the family.

I agree Houston is scary in the sense it is a large metropolitan area; however, Houston (Harris County) is Blue (from the Houston Chronicle):

"Clinton won Harris County, TX with a margin of 12.4 percentage points.

Harris County, TX has an unemployment rate of 5.1%, a median income of $53,822. 13% of the residents live on food stamps. 29% of the residents have a bachelor’s degree."

Lost in a sea of red, though.

So substantial is the Houston region's diversity that it is has become the nation's most racially/ethnically diverse large metropolitan area. It is more racially/ethnically diverse than the metropolitan regions of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, and the others.

I remember driving by the KKK clan lodge on the way to and from work, between South Houston and Clear Lake.

It is a scary place.
