Gingrich says he wont hold Cabinet post under Trump
Source: The Washington Post
Former House speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday he will not serve in President-elect Donald Trumps Cabinet.
I want to be free to network across the whole system and look at what we have to do to succeed, Gingrich said when briefly reached by phone. Holding a Cabinet post would have been not physically doable, he said.
The remarks from the former GOP presidential candidate, 73, came after he told McClatchy he intends to focus on strategic planning during the Trump administration rather than run a federal department. The former House speaker said he does not plan to hold any official role under Trump.
Gingrichs name had been mentioned for health and human services secretary and secretary of state. An active surrogate for Trump during the campaign, the former Georgia Republican lawmaker was long expected to take a role in the administration. New Gingrich is going to be involved in our government, Trump said on the campaign trail in July.

(90,763 posts)Is Trump again dipping into his so-called charities for other expenses?
I'd really like to know who is paying Gingrich, Giuliani, etc., because there is no way they have been making the rounds for free.

(58,785 posts)IF this is being done from inside the Trump circle, instead of indication that he's being pushed out, it is not good news. I had my bellyful of being called a corrupt radical liberal a long time ago,.

I despise these people and I blame Newt for the continued lowering level of political discourse in this country.

(58,785 posts)From what I've read about the ways he's abused people around him, I can certainly understand keeping a distance. Over the years I've worked 3 times with people I eventually recognized as sociopathic, one retrospectively because I was too young to know about them. All were into games and sabotage and enjoyed manipulating and hurting people.
