If you turn enough corners or go into enough stairwells, you may find a Muslim praying. I've heard of no complaints about this. And the times I've seen this, Muslims don't act like I violated some sacred space.

In other words, seemed like a personal problem.

Stairwells and corners? When I was an undergrad (2000-2005, so post 9/11) my university had a large park in the middle of it. Muslims would be praying individually or in small groups all the time. Didn't need to go into any stairwells or secret rooms to find them. And no one cared, everyone just went about their business of walking to class, reading the campus newspaper, throwing frisbees, etc

made him snap. There is enough hate against him in this society NOW as has been hidden always before. Just because he goes off, he has to be radical ISIS and all that. I see a PoC doesn't stand a chance if he/she retaliates in an inappropriate manner out of fear of the rampant WHITE trumpfuhrer brownshirt hate cadres out there.

I was on my local predominantly white campus last evening and the backward baseball cap wearing young white males are fucking swaggering in their walk and talk. Walking shoulder to shoulder and people are getting out of their way. One turned and looked at me. I met his look, hard. He could have come on and I would have tried to kill him. He did not look kindly on this 69 year old vet of color so I will not damn the student in this piece. His fear overrode his reason. You all who are acting outraged, you don't face this racist shit.Civility, playing nice????? Out the window for this PoC anywhere and everywhere. Kindness will be met with kindness, hate will be met with appropriate measure of hate with dripping contempt.

don't fade into the mob which I figure will happen given what I have read here the last couple of years when some unarmed PoC is murdered by some pig with a badge and a gun, whether you have the compassion or more than likely not there is a lot of worry out here among "the marked". Trumpfuhrer and his brownshirt racists will have a field day with the unresisting. But you, like I said can fade into the mob which I suspect many shall do. I have faced reality about this country for many decades and a lot of people are not going to be able to deal, they are going to snap. I've been facing racist ameriKKKa for a long time and in Vietnam and on the streets I never let a white person treat me as an unequal. Some of these immigrants don't understand what cowards racist really are. Brave in a group, but when I got a couple in an elevator and they pissed all over themselves, I left laughing as they sniveled. You who won't have to worry, skin color wise, don't really faze me with your snark. I have grown accustomed to the open arrogance and privilege some always fall back on. Trump will wipe the smirk off of a lot of peoples faces. That reality is going to hurt a certain kind of citizen, not AA. I always knew my rights here were tenuous. No surprise you now have to fade into the howling mob because ignorant, stupid people believed a con man with no political experience. Stupid, stupid ameriKKKans may you get what you voted for.

that some ameriKKKans can think, think mind you, that they can actually send us back 50-100 years where I will have to avert my gaze from the superior ameriKKKan walking toward me, get off the sidewalk when some superior ameriKKKan walks toward me, drink out of separate fountains for 'coloreds' only, toilets the same, not cleaned EVER. Have to print an updated 'green book' for AA and brown minority drivers going nationwide to be able to avoid superior ameriKKKans lynch mob towns, although that will probably be a good idea with the ignorant folks that think they run the country now. Just an example of what I remember growing up in the south.

Goddamn right I'm angry that I have to fight off the WHITE racist hordes with their kiss ass minority running dog lackeys for the next four years. Most others can just fade into the blood thirsty mob. I saw that in the 50's and 60's. Most white folks and those who kiss ass enough or who have enough self hate to follow the trumpfuhrer won't have a thing to worry about. It is the 'marked' ones I am concerned about. Deja Vu anyone? This country is about to get ugly as a place to live. All who want to can soft pedal this result of the election, my eyes are wide open to what and who I will have to be extremely wary with for the next 4 years. "Bright shining light", my ass. More like a descent into a proverbial white racist hell. And just like those demons they follow, they are legion. Goddamn right I'm "boiling".

the murderous action, I do understand how fear probably made his mind snap. The issues were already there, just needed a real or imagined incident to cause reaction. I will never excuse murder as I have seen people here excuse in the case of unarmed PoC being murdered by authorities of the state all over this country AND private wanna be "neighborhood watch' citizens. And they usually started their rationalization with the words "thug", "criminal past" ect. No I am not one of those types that I have seen speak out, in favor of murder of unarmed citizens and in this case student citizens, here. He is dead. He is no more problem. The people he hurt and killed they have my hopes they can heal and more importantly, move on with their lives.

Matthew, Chapter 6

1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men.Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

When trump was expected to lose

edit: It seems his motivations were made clear on his last facebook post:

"... he said in a Facebook post that he had reached a “boiling point” and was “sick and tired” of seeing Muslims around the globe “killed and tortured,” law enforcement officials told CNN and NBC.

The post said the U.S. should stop “interfering” in the Muslim world and referenced “lone wolf” attacks."

while the ohio state community my be accepting perhaps the part where he lived was not.

if we have learned anything over the years in dealing with bullies it is that things are often hidden.

one of my proudest moment as a father was when i was told my lovable oversized lug of a son took on the
playground bully who was pushing a kid around during recess...They literally duked it out until the teachers broke it up.
somehow my kid never got reported...seems the teachers knew the bully was a problem and they did nothing.
Found out from other hockey parents telling me they were so proud of my son doing what he did.

perhaps there was no one holp this kid and violence resulted

Idk why religion, place of birth or race should ever enter the discussion.

It may be that sociopaths are easier to radicalize but wtf does that have to do with the price of apples in singapore.

I reject "terrorism" as a valid basis of for a new set of crimes. Anyone think the people doing the radicalizing are fucking sane? If anything, barely sane politicians use identifying info to manipulate the masses.

Just because humanity hasn't progressed far enuf in its knowledge of chemical or hardwiring of the brain to understand why murderers kill doesn't mean we need to continue our pathetically inept path of searching for convenient demons.

A murderer tried to kill people. It's a crime. He's dead.

Stop the witch hunt. Take mental health issues out of the political arena. It's abusive to law abiding people who happen to share community or race with a criminal.
