Warrensburg administration apologizes after student displays Trump sign during introduction

Source: KCTV

Before the game, students at the school turned their backs on the Center High School basketball team. It’s a long-standing tradition at several schools.

Students were dressed in overalls and cowboy hats for the pre-planned farmer night, but one flashed a Donald Trump campaign sign.

A Center fan took the film and called it prejudiced and racially insensitive.

On Tuesday, the Warrensburg School District apologized for the students’ behavior.

1. One month after the election there were no less than 13 trump signs

On my drive to work there were 13 trump signs at 6 different houses still out in yards. Campaign signs need to be removed 5 days after the election by city code. So I called to complain, but you are only allowed one complaint per day. So I called on 4 addresses and they removed the signs.

Now that things are going shitty for Trumpski, I am going to leave the last 2 places be.

Let them look like jerks

That a stupid fucking trump sign will cause such an uproar during a competition where turning your backs on your opponent is considered normal is absolutely ridiculous.
This is just getting dumber by the day & I'm getting more embarrassed by my group

...flashes a sign supporting him at a school event. It must be nice for you, 7962, to be so cavalier about what could be the greatest crisis the country has faced since the Civil War.

8. I prefer to plan on how to win in '18, not look like fools whining over a campaign sign

This constant need for apology wont help that goal in any way. It will only serve the OTHER side to point out the over-sensitivity and whining that apparently is going to be non-stop. Its like the receiver who constantly asks for a pass interference call; certainly SOME of the times he's got a point. But soon most people will just write him off as not being able to make the play.
Pick your battles & Fight the good fight hard. This is a stupid one.
And if the House & Senate numbers dont improve in '18, dont expect many good things to happen until after '20

But to each his own

9. Wow, 7962n, you come across as so superior and all-knowing.

Can't we do both without incurring you're holier-than-thou wrath? There's nothing stupid about making schools a place where we don't have to be exposed to other people's political agendas.

6. I like to pretend opinions I don't hold are indicative of spinelessness as well.

I like to pretend opinions I don't hold are indicative of spinelessness as well.

Granted, we never offer evidence or support for our allegations and petulant, child-like name-calling, yet they certainly frame our own biases and narratives accurately, are self-validating, and allow us the pretense that we are tough men by implying others are weak.

Which in and of itself, may ('may', for the contextually challenged or sub-literate readers-- not 'is') ironically indicate its own idiocy and a spinelessness... but we'll righteously allege otherwise to better advertise our own metaphorical testosterone, callouses, bib overalls, and primer gray trucks.

Embarrassing, indeed.

7. Your perspicacity never ceases to amaze all who are enlightened by it

And yet you participate in the same petulant, child-like name calling that you seem to deride.

As i see it, the problem is that the more perpetually "offended" people become, the less likely a favorable outcome will occur in '18. But feel free to sympathize with those who are hurt by simply seeing a simple campaign sign; even if it is for a blowhard like trump. I wonder how they're going to handle the real world when they are tossed into it.
