President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday tweeted out a taunting New Year's greeting to those who opposed him.

"Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don't know what to do. Love!" Trump wrote hours before the end of 2016.

Trump has frequently used Twitter to mark holidays with taunting messages to his opponents - a tradition that dates back before his entry into politics.

In 2013, he wrote: "Happy Thanksgiving to all--even the haters and losers!"
