(Bob D-NE) Kerrey raises another $1.58 million

WASHINGTON — Bob Kerrey continues to prove himself a prolific fundraising machine.
The U.S. Senate candidate, a Democrat, raised another $1.58 million during the most recent reporting period, his campaign announced Monday.
Kerrey is running in Nebraska against Republican nominee Deb Fischer to replace retiring Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb.
Fischer, the race’s frontrunner, stepped up her own fundraising in the period from April 26th to June 30 — raising $1.29 million. That includes a $30,000 loan to the campaign.
