Trump signs executive action to keep out 'radical Islamic terrorists'

Source: CNN

CNN)President Donald Trump signed two executive actions Friday at the Department of Defense, including one limiting the flow of refugees into the United States by instituting what the President has called "extreme vetting" of immigrants.
Titled "Protection Of The Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States," the executive order would start to make good on Trump's promise to tighten borders and halt certain refugees from entering the United States.

"I am establishing new vetting measures to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States of America," Trump said during the signing at the Pentagon after the swearing-in of Defense Secretary James Mattis. "We don't want them here."

8. It gets worse: (UPDATED: EVEN WORSE!)

Jamal Abdi, policy director for the National Iranian American Council, an advocacy group based in Washington, said the order had been generating insecurity and uncertainty.

“We’re already inundated with calls and emails from people about travel plans they’re putting on hold, spouses and family members who are currently traveling and not able to come back to the U.S., a large Iranian student population who are at international conferences and potentially stuck in limbo,” Abdi said.

The language in the executive order was so broad, Abdi said, that it was not immediately clear whether green-card holders — who have undergone strict vetting to become permanent U.S. residents — would be allowed to come back to the United States if they were currently overseas.

11. So he cites 9/11 for justification, but none of the countries the hijackers came from are listed.

The order cites the Sept. 11 attacks as justifying the restrictions. Most of the hijackers in the 9/11 attacks were Saudi Arabian nationals, and others were from Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon — countries not named in the executive action.

Gee, wonder why he left off those countries. Could it be because he does business in those countries?
