Democrats to Pentagon: Probe Mike Flynn's Ties to Kremlin TV Network

Top Democrats have called for a Pentagon probe into the relationship between retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, President Trumps top national security adviser, and Kremlin-funded television network Russia Today. Lawmakers contend, in a letter sent to Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, that Flynn may have violated the Constitution by accepting money from the network. The memo notes that Flynn was paid to speak at a gala in Moscow celebrating the networks tenth anniversarywhich he has readily admittedand that he reportedly dined next to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the event. These examples may represent cases in which Flynn violated the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. It prohibits anyone holding an office of profit or trust from accepting payments from a foreign country. The Department of Defense has made clear that this restriction applies to retired military officers because they continue to hold offices of trust, according to the letter.

1. Dems are pissing in the wind.

Flynn is a Russian Asset, but he's protected by Trumpy and even Bannon. That's right. Trumpy will protect a Russian Asset. Why? Because Trumpy himself is a Russian Asset.

Dems can kick and scream all they want. The intelligence community ALREADY HAS all of the dirt on Flynn. So does the Pentagon. BUT IS DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE. What matters is Bannon and Putin. Both are eager to destroy the Republic. Trumpy doesn't care because he'll end up making mountains of money. To hell with everything else.

If you want to give up and go home, fine--but kindly don't spread your negativity like slurry.

The press is -- right this second-- putting Sean Sphincter -- errr, Spicer -- on the hot seat about Flynn.

5. We've got to force some of the GOP to see their place in history.

And pull them (like Collins/Murkowski re: DeVos) to our side.

We'll have to be issue-specific, but that's how it is going to have to be until 2018. It will be difficult. We'll lose more than we will win. We can't stop trying, though.

In the interim we need to dig deep and flip some seats in the next election--we need both chambers to really fight back, but one will gum up the works.
