Its not just First Lady Melania Trump whos having trouble cashing in on Donald Trumps presidency.
BuzzFeed notes that four more retailers have stopped selling the clothing line produced by First Daughter Ivanka Trump amid lagging sales of the brand.
Retailers Belk, Jet, ShopStyle, and the Home Shopping Network have all stopped selling Trumps fashion line this week, just days after retailers Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom announced that they would also stop carrying it. As BuzzFeed notes, there has been a concerted campaign called Grab Your Wallet to get retailers to stop selling Trumps clothes, although the Home Shopping Network tells the publication that its decision to dump the brand was a financial one, not a political one.
At HSN we are non-partisan and our product decisions are based solely on a continual evaluation related to our business, a spokesperson told BuzzFeed.

(4,112 posts)and saw an Ivanka Trump boutique on the main floor. I turned around and left the store without buying anything. Spent $750 on my spring wardrobe (necessitated by losing more than 20 lbs when my allergy meds were switched - yay!) at a small local shop instead.

ETA: Congrats on the weight loss and the new meds. Last time I tried new allergy meds I had an asthma attack and a minor anaphylactic attack. Needless to say, not taking those meds any more!

(113,547 posts)It's been stunning how quickly the weight came off as soon as I stopped taking steroid-based allergy meds. My sister and I both have numerous food/chemical allergies, and many of them were previously misdiagnosed or not broad enough in their scope. New tests helped enormously and we've both seen terrific improvements in our health. Very happy about that, even with a more restricted range of foods available. Lots of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and seafood. NOTHING prepared/boxed - allergies to the preservatives they all use.
Local shops had nicer clothes. A little pricier, but good quality stuff that will last more than a few months.

(113,547 posts)the allergies you mentioned, the diet you listed is good (having a weird allergy myself, pretty much all boxed, prepared, convenience food is basically out.
yes, good quality lasts far longer --I shop the sale racks at good stores, and thrift stores. amazing what one can find there.

(4,112 posts)which bloats you, makes you hungry, etc. (And compounds the problem if eating things that are allergy triggers, which is exactly what was happening!) Very effective, but brutal on the body, especially long-term. Now taking albuterol. While the elimination of prednisone has definitely made a big difference, I think that the change in diet has had a wider impact. By eliminating the intake of allergens in the food, I no longer need the steriodal meds.

(5,730 posts)I always loved that store. One of my friends found the perfect shoes for a wedding, noticed they were Ivanka's, and said she would rather have her feet hurt. She bought something else.
Congrats on 20 pound loss!

(2,771 posts)I predict a sharp downturn in sales until they reveal the new state, and voucher, mandated school uniforms brought to you by Trump brands. Because they seem to like ripping other folks ideas off the uniforms will probably include fashionable shorty shorts, arm band, fashionable leather satchel with pen and notepad (you know, to keep track of those bad Americans) and a bolo tie emblazoned with that strange valor crest thing he likes to sit in front of and sign shit.
I mean I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist or anything... wait, never mind already did.
