GOP Senators Urge Trump To 'Pursue A Tough-Minded Russia Policy'

Nine Republican senators urged President Donald Trump to “pursue a tough-minded Russia policy" in a letter on Thursday.
Specifically, the senators cited Russia’s continued intervention in Ukraine, in violation of the Minsk agreements; its targeting of civilians in Syria on behalf of the Assad regime; Russia’s “interference in our democratic elections process” and the continued cyber threat posed by the country; and what they call the United States’ non-negotiable values of democracy, human rights and transparency.
Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO), along with Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Todd Young (R-IN), Rob Portman (R-OH), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) signed the letter to the President.
The letter specified that Trump should maintain sanctions on Russia until their conditions on Crimea are met, and that he should "expedite the provision of defensive lethal weapons to Ukraine."
